I just dont see this deal happening but it is interesting and a definate consideration. Any word on what Subban is asking for, he is an RFA? Plek is signed at $5mil through 2015-16

I don't think Mtl should do this deal. They need a winger but to play with Plekanec, so it is more or less an upgrade. They will have Galchenyuk to replace him but only in a year or two. By then Kane could be gone. Kane is signed 3 years and Hjalmarsson 2 years. Both are UFA after the deal.

Plekanec is signed for anotehr 4 years at a decent 5M and Subban just finished his entry level deal.

This is only an upgrade for Montreal if they had another center short term. Only player that probably fits this is Gomez and he sucks balls.

Chicago fans may disagree, but to me. Plekanec=Hjalmarsson and Subban=Kane. Subban has the potential to be a number one physical offensive defensemen.
- _Zippy_

i disagree there 100%

i think you are over valuing subban ( like everyone does). I think hes a good to great player, but not the second coming of christ like people make him out to be
but under valuing plekanec as well

According to Shane Doan's agent, Terry Bross, the #Blackhawks have shown interest in the veteran free-agent forward.

Word around here is one of 2 deals.

First a 2 year deal in the $3.5 range.
Second is a 6 year deal similar to Price or Gorges but in the $5 million range

People can say the same thing for Kane though,. Plays with an amazing center in Toews but only scored 66 points. Both young, both getting better.

If that deal went through, estimating the Subban signing at 3.5 million, you would have 10 million in cap space and youre depth chart could look like this....

Stalberg Toews Sharp

Frolik Plekanec Hossa

Kruger Bolland Shaw/Hayes

Carcillo Bollig Bickell

Mayers

Keith Seabrook

Leddy Subban

Oduya Montador

Brookbank

Crawford
Emery

if what i hear about Kane is true, what hes doin in his personal life, and aside from the fact hes known as the Village drunk and isnt allowed in alot of high profile places in Chicago area, the Hawks would be smart to move him.

Sure when the kid is surrounded by stars and is focused he can score 40...but as he gets more money and a higher profile the maturity doesnt seem to be matching it and it gives Chicago P.R. people alot of work to do. There is a great amount of skill but a hell of a lot of growing up to do and I really think the Blackhawks are getting sick of it..

I agree that this is a good deal for both teams. This is scary because I feel Kane still has the ability to be a 35g 70a player, but will he ever take the leap from good player to great player. However, I wouldn't move Kane unless Doan is brought into the fold.

Did or will the hawks send Olesz and Montador down? Seems unlikely. If they were to pull off the proposed deal with the has, does that send Eddy and a 1st/2nd to kings for Bernier?

I would like to see Huet back in the nhl, he preformed well in Montreal and Washington I can understand the hawks had to jettison him out of the fold for salary cap reasons, but I dont see how one bad season means he's not nhl worthy .

I just don't see where goaltending help comes from right now.

I have my views on Luongo. Better than Crawford but I don't think Bowman brings that contract on..

Other than Bernier, and it's not actually known if the Kings are shopping him or not, I don't know who else is out there.

Currently, I think we're going to have to hope Crawford just went through some growing pains and that upgrading the defense will help.

Kane was split from Toews alot. Even to play C. Kane is a near PPG player and is a PPG player in the playoffs. His production is just aobut the same as Plek and Subban both.
