I would throw semin 3 year 15 mil contract and flip him or vanek to the RW

I think Grigorenko would fit in just fine with those wingers

Even if he surprises and makes the team, I'd have to assume there'll be an adjustment period, and who knows how long that will be under a flip flopping lindy...

an acceptable season for a top six rookie center would be say adam henrique, but he's 22, and parise/kovy >>> pommer/van. anything less isn't worthy of the top 6, but we can't have him wasting away playing 4th line minutes or getting run over as a checking line center. he will have to REALLY impress, I think we need a backup plan.

- BuffaJoe

That is a valid point. In my opinion it is not a great tactic to consistently move around a young rookie all over the place. Let them fight through the growing pains with limited variables changing. Remember Melrose's handling of Stamkos? It didnt take long after Tocchet let him go and just play without messing with him did he take off.

Vanek - Hodge - Pommer
Ott - Grigs - Leino
Foligno - Ennis - Stafford
McM - Porter - Kaleta

Roll 3 scoring lines.. Grigs is more of a scoring center and both Ott and Leino like to dish the puck.. it would give him every opportunity to get stats.

I think Ott would take some very important draws from Grigs and Ott would take 1st line PK minutes with Kaleta/Pommer.

Hodge and Ennis would be the 2 PP unit centers.

I think Grigs could get 18g and 30a

porter may that plan

no reason to think he could not get 30 points on the third line

so back to that panicked feeling......

Figure 7 as Ennis and Kaleta still need to be re-upped.
- dadeadhead

Forgot they haven't done that yet...

But then we can't play 10 D... so we will be back to 10 Million when 2 or 3 are traded or shipped dwn the 90

Grigs is a shoot first center... that wouldn't make sense to put him with two scoring forwards.

Everybody will laugh when Staff has 35 goals next year.. BOOK IT!

- BuffaloKyle

am i the only one that thinks he can hit 30 next yr if we keep ennis.

everyone is complaining we cant score anymore. we got rid of one player. one! one that barely gave us offense that past two season. and yes i know he was hurt but still. we now have the same players that can score. van, pommer, hodge, ennis, staff, foligno, leino (maybe one day) gerbe. plus it is very probable that grigs can make the team, he can score and help his line mates score a little more. i dont know why everyone is freaking out. so what if we don't score as much as the pens or nucks or bruins. as long as we win games. i know we are probably not done tweaking the roster but i am ok with it the way it is now give or take a few players (adam, grigs, tropp, mcnabb)

so stop your b*tching.

end of rant.

But can we count on Lindy to change his gameplan? I guess nothing's impossible, Darcy's done a 180 from his old self, maybe Lindy will too, but I'll have to see it to believe it.

Looks like Suter and Parise were better BFFs!! haha

I really do wonder how much those 2 guys will transform Minny this year..

I don't think they can win the division with Vancouver there.. but I think that Colorado and Minny will battle for 2nd.. and a 7th or 8th seed.

- JVince11

Very similar situation to the Buffalo Bills. Both the Wild and Bills were meaningless nothing franchises in the leagues they play in. They both went out and signed the biggest fish. Their performance on the field is only half the equation. The other half is bringing notoriety and respect back to the franchise which in turn makes it more desirable for other quality players to want to join.

coho with ott and leino seems to be a good thought

With Semin Vanek and Grigs, you'd be forcing your 2nd, 3rd and spotty 4th liners to spend to much time on the PK.

Then, with people like Pommers, PK, Staff and McMuscles playing PK time (since Vanek and Semin love to take lazy penalties in their own zone), you'd be giving Van, Sem and Grigs a lot of ice time.

And we all know how streaky Van and Semin are...

I don't want anything to do with Semin.
