It's really interesting in hindsight to see how Adam's career has turned after his all star appearance. There must have been more to it than just shotty play (he was bad, but bad enough to be bumped down 5 or 6 spots on the depth chart?!?!), but I have a hard time believing that dumb interview with Pommer had much to do with it.

I will say I'm really happy with the AHL and bottom 6 signings all around. With some of the kids making the jump, we should have plenty of players with actual NHL experience to fill in for injuries.

I think McCormick is better suited as a wing IMO.

he played all 82 games in 10-11 and had good stats.

I have a feeling thats what the Sabres are hoping for too. Because as far as trading for a #1 Center, I don't see too many being available. I think Darcy may look for more scoring up front but not at the Center position.

if it is against the Bruins, Flyers, or Leafs.. I think Scott gets suited up..

If it is against Rangers, Islanders, Devils, or Senators.. i think McM gets suited up..

If it is against Penguins, Canadians, Panthers, or Caps... i think Gerbe gets suited up...

Wouldn't be a bad pick up. Many teams are waiting on Doan too. Once Doan's decision is made, I think more free agent\trades will begin to pick up. According to what I'm reading, a ton of teams want Doan...so we will see...

Even if he surprises and makes the team, I'd have to assume there'll be an adjustment period, and who knows how long that will be under a flip flopping lindy...

an acceptable season for a top six rookie center would be say adam henrique, but he's 22, and parise/kovy >>> pommer/van. anything less isn't worthy of the top 6, but we can't have him wasting away playing 4th line minutes or getting run over as a checking line center. he will have to REALLY impress, I think we need a backup plan.
