Take it for what you will, we still have Tropp, Kaleta, McCormick, as well as Ott on our Bottom 6.
If an all out brawl happened between Boston and Buffalo, we wouldn't get destroyed this time around. Guys who would fight;
Ott, Kaleta, Weber, Tropp, Regehr, Myers, McCormick, Scott, with a maybe of Stafford and Ehrhoff. - awildmudkip
And that is good, I agree the Sabres got tougher, specifically because of Ott. Those guys can play a normal shift. This John Scott stuff is just trying to hang on to an era that has passed by.
I love fighting in hockey, but the staged goon fights are useless and time has passed them by. And if we are being honest, that is the only time these "heavyweights" ever fight anymore.

I said that.
Im just saying a guy like Scott is pointless in the NHL these days. The Penguins have had Godard and MacIntyre in recent years, they accomplish NOTHING, they dont deter ANYTHING. Those days are over. - Gunner Staal
"Is that your well researched opinion that is better than any one else's?"
You guys had players like Asham and Cooke in recent years that could put up small stats but were there as nothing more than a Goon.

I think having a guy like Godard does deture somebody like Kaleta from trying to run Crosby through the boards.
they do need him, thats why they signed him...he wont play in Roch, I'd be surprised if he did - Homer
I think Ott, Kaleta, McCormick, Foligno, Tropp, Mcnabb.....and maybe a couple others could drop the gloves and fight. They can all play hockey too. Scott will play for 3-4 minutes a game. Who would you take out of the lineup for Scott?
We have a log jam now on d and up front, do you think Porter makes the team? That's why I'm hoping Darcy makes atleast one more move. - sabresfandan
Pretty sure he works his way up again but starts in Rochester. He's kind of the insurance marker if our forwards get bit by the injury bug again. I don't expect him to play in the big club, but down the road it's a possibility.

I'd add Foligno to the mix of guys who would mix it up.....can't understand why anyone would ever put Christian Ehrhoff as a guy who would fight. Hes not a scrapper, and yes I know he fought like twice last year. My best guess is that that was out of the norm. Not that you can predict all out brawls or who would be on the ice when any given brawl touched off.

It didn't. People were always trying to take runs at him, it just isnt easy to catch him clean, the effort was there.
To me the Mike Rupp's of the world are the new valuable heavyweights. Guys that can play solid 4th line role and maintain the ability to pummel people.
2.) Foligno looked like he no longer belongs with the kids.
3.) McCabe and Pysyk both look like future top 4 Dmen in the NHL
4.) CoHo looked much more confident then I have ever seen him
5.) Grigs has the it factor. - Pillar
Thanks for the report. Sounds good to hear. I still see a trade happening in the future to acquire a #1 center or a least another solid player. I just can't believe people writing off Luke Adam. Damn at least Stamkos was given a year. I still see a defenseman or two being moved. I did Leduc look????
And people need to stop with this Stastny for Vanek rumor that would be a hands down win for Colorado. People are too high on Stastny. He's good but not Vanek good.

he fought twice and both times it was sticking up for Miller... but then he got hurt in his fight against Chicago I want to say.. and he won't fight again...
Foligno is a GOOD fighter according to his junior tapes..
