I wish youd have said Grigorenko was a man amongst boys but if those others look the best then we could be in for some trouble.
- hubie

You can't say it's men against boys because they were up against our best defensive pairing. But in the mini-scrimmage they had, anytime he was on the ice, something positive for his line happened. Trying to take the puck from him was like getting Lindsay Lohan off drugs.. it just isn't gonna happen

Ok I lose, you guys win, based on her original post.

Moving on now

- CaptainRivet

I will move on now, but I do have one more thing to point out:

The Sabres were 14-17-4 when Roy got injured. But they were 1-10-2 when Roy didnt record a point in the 35 games he played in 2010-11. 13-7-2 when he recorded a point. And 9-2-1 when he recorded 1 or more points in a game.

Lindsay needs to stay on the drugs... That keeps her relevant.

what i was saying is that roys production can be easily replaced by a number of other players, and our lineup will be fine with some tweaks, nothing major.

I for one can't make a solid comparison. They're in different groups. However, both stood out in the sense that they make something happen.

Both looked great in my opinion..

He was a productive player that we still may be much better off for getting rid of.

Sure its addition by subtraction. But too much addition by subtraction is just subtraction.

GUess you gotta get used to it. On the plus side think of all the money pumping in to the local economy. Plus new batch of people for you, that is if your single.

Roy produced for this team during his time here, no question.

I didn't like his whining after every penalty he got, but I didn't hate him like it seems everybody in Buffalo does. He was a solid offensive contributor for this team.

Thats fine that you have that opinion. Neither of our opinions hold any weight right now, because its all based on how next year is going to play out.

In my opinion, I think our team is weaker down the middle. Too many question marks. Another year of Roy at the top line center wouldnt have been a bad thing. I think we only needed another winger for the third line to put between Hodgson and Leino that fits in with both players.

Doan or Semin wouldve worked. Land either, theres multiple lines you could go through that make it work. Doan wouldve been that leader, grit, scoring winger that we needed.

But like I said, we'll have to wait to see how next season plays out for any of us to say "told you so".

3v3 in tight drills. Both were very similar. Passing and playmaking was spot-on. No lack of defensive effort.

I honestly see no point in trying to go all in on a #1 Center. Hodgson can handle it. Just sign Arnott and trade for Bobby Ryan. At the very least get Arnott.

oh no i def agree one more year of roy would have been better, but he is gone so i'm not even thinking about him anymore. yes our middle may be shaky, but we do not need to blow up the team and trade away tons of players for a big name guy. i believe our balanced scoring will help fill the production that roy gave us. that is all i'm trying to say. and i have no problem with us signing semin or doan. just no big trades.

But, lets blame our best offensive player, single him out, call him the cancer, call him the reason our other players cant produce, blame the teams failures on him and pitchfork to get him out of town. Its the same cycle. It has been for years. Someone new will be that person when/if we fail next year.
