1. Colborne will be in the AHL this season, I think that's a given ATM
2. Kadri, Frattin and Komarov wouldn't be in our top 6, so mute point
3. Lombardi should be sent to the AHL, while I believe we will deal Connolly to a team below cap floor
4. JVR may not stick, but put Bozak there and move Kulemin down to 3rd line - cor99
1: Burke has stated that they may address the center position from within the organization; I'm assuming he meant Colborne and/or the JVR experiment. He did comment in that interview that he expects some guys to stick from the Marlies and he did mention Colborne's outstanding start before the injury. Not sure what's happening there but I wouldn't say it's a "given" he's going to be with for the Marlies all year.
2,3,4: Right, but if we add another top 6 winger, not to mention McClement taking up a bottom 6 roster spot means we have ALOT of top 9 forwards and I'm not so sure how movable Connolly and Lombardi are; towards the trade deadline if they have decent seasons, ok, somebody will take a flyer on them for playoff depth for mid round picks, but not sure anyone's willing to give up assets now for them, no matter how cheap the assets are (late round picks, late round prospects).

I agree completely, last year when we signed Connolly most of us were hoping it would all work out and he's have a comeback year. I feel the same way about JVR. He's a solid player but we are hoping he will have a career year and I just don't see that happening. We take average deals that Burke makes and hope they are the answer. - nomdreas
Not the same... Everyone knew Connolly wasn't going to work out...
JVR is what? 24? People are hoping he works at center, if not, he's a perfect 2nd line LW, that could develop into a solid first liner |

So true. Everytime he tries this he sets us back another year. We have some decent pieces in place, but we need a #1 Center and a Goalie. Get it done. No excuses. We are the Toronto Maple Leafs. I would give anyone on this team other than Kessel for Getz., even landing Stasney would work. Hell I would have taken Derek Roy. But trying to put JVR as a center is a joke. |

JVR will be a beauty. The fact that Burke traded Schenn whom he thought was the messiah is enough for me to beleaf! |

Connelly can be moved now..... Lombo has a parking spot at the Ricoh center waiting |

Have you ever actually watched him play? He is not a scorer. He gets into the dirty areas and is strong on the puck in the corners. - JohnTucker7
Have you ever watched a hockey game? Going into the corners and being strong on the puck is not tough and gritty. Chris Neil is tough and gritty; Cal Clutterbuck is tough and gritty; Jordan Tootoo is tough and gritty; Shayne Corson was tough and gritty; Darcy Tucker was tough and gritty.
JVR is not tough and gritty. He's a top 6 scoring forward with size. |

Simple... conditional 7th for Connolly or future considerations.
Once the FA logjam is gone and players are gone.... i think a team that is below the floor still will take a chance on him |

Hey man, I'll believe it when I see it (and rejoice). Something tells me that those two guys are going to be playing on our roster out of camp. We'll see how injuries go, and when Frattin gets back, but I just don't see anybody picking either of those guys up but I'll happily eat my words if it does happen before the trade deadline. |

I am sure thats what the flyers sold him as. You watch, after putting on the leafs jersey he will score 10-15 goals a year. |

You clearly haven't watched him play. He's a scoring forward that uses his size to protect the puck in the corner and goes to the net.
He's not tough and gritty... he doesn't lay big hits, he doesn't fight, he doesn't draw penalties....
The fact that you can't see the difference shows how little you know about the guy, or hockey in general |

Luke Schenn's career high is 22 points... twice in 79 and 82 games.
JVR career low is 24 points.... in 43 games....

I am well aware of his prior stats. JVR will be playing against the opposing teams top players now. Schenn will be logging PP minutes with the 3rd best powerplay in the NHL. I think they are both gonna be around 30-35 points, with Schenn having a slight edge because he is more durable. |

1. JVR played against top guys in philly.....
2. Schenn WILL NOT be on their power play. He wasn't on our powerplay why the (frank) would he be on theirs... |
