Yes, the Masterson is a "good job, you came back and reclaimed your career" trophy. The Selke is a middling award and sometimes overlooks the reality of a good checking forward. Would Gilmour have won this trophy, if he had 35 points as a good checking centre? - JohnnyReb
Like Draper in 03-04? Madden in 00-01? Carbeneau 91-92?.......... |

Well, sure, if the guy had to combat headaches while watching movies. But guys who've battled cancer, or other lifethreatening issues, like blood infections, and managed to come back- they should get some recognition. - Feeling Glucky?
I don't know guys, I get the "boo hoo for the millionaire" knee-jerk reaction but these guys have literally been training their entire lives, top 1% kind of thing.
Coming back from any kind of debilitating injury or ailment and competing at a high level is worth recognition. |

Please don't ever mention that award....it should be called "congrats you had an issue to face and you came back to play a game that pays you millions!" - Juice
Some really good players have won it before. Blake just wasn't one of them. |

I think Gilmour's years in Toronto were a huge part of his HOF resume, it showed he had at least a couple of years were he was arguably one of the most dominant players in the game, which I think he was at his peak.
With Sundin it's his PPG career and international play, and most of his dominant play was with Toronto - Zezel
Gilmour spent more time and accomplished more with other teams than he did with the Leafs. Sundin, you could make the case for but a lot of what he did outside of the NHL got him in so quickly so that's probably a 50/50 split. He's a Swedish legend. |

He can't have been arguably one of the best players in the world for a couple of years if he didn't win the Hart?
All I'm saying is Gilmour had some huge years in Toronto that didn't hurt his career and his HOF resume, it's cool he did it here, same with Sundin |

Mario Lemieux scored 69 goals and 160 points that year in 60 games. Tough act to beat. |

I've always thought if he played as many games as Gretz did, he'd beat quite a few of his records. |

Good. Holzer seems like a solid 5th or 6th guy to have. Next up, Kulemin and Franson |
