obviously it's pre-judging. My thing is that these teams are professionals, so why leave the way he did? Perry, Getzlaf, Seleane, Fowler, Beauchiman, Hillar, Ryan etc... have all stayed and you don't hear a word from them because they are being managed like scum.

He atleast could have signed and requested a trade to Edmonton for a 2nd.

getzlaf who i like, id love him in Toronto.

grabovski isnt all that much worse, but is strong, healthy and probley my favorite player on the leafs right now.

The Panthers are already a playoff team without him and his wife is literally from Florida. If they win, he's the prodigal son, if they lose, nobody cares. It's quite easy to see Florida is his first choice.

for getz an nhl top 6 centre would have to be included..preferably signed for a c few years... the ducks cant just go with koivu as their only centre in the top 6

getz i swear has been hurt or not playing 100% since he F'd that ankle up and then played all olympics.

getzlaf in his prime > grabovski, kule

getzlaf now...i dont think hes worth gbov, kule and a first round pick.

grabo and kulemin combined for what...60 goals 2 years ago...grabbo is the leafs offense at this point other than the kessel/lupul combo...who are we trying to kid?

You said it was up to him... but I disagree with that. There is one thing at play here that could be missing from this kid and it's called talent. Meaning... Mr. Schultz can want to be a pro as much as he possibly could want something, work as hard as possible and still not make. Therefore it's not up to him. It will be what it will be.

i would be actually rather happy if they stood pat and avoided doing anything stupid

jetison whatever vets you can, go with as much youth as possible and see what happens.

i personally dont see the big deal about the playoffs.. sure it would be nice.. but only if they made it there with guys who will be part of the mold moving forward.. i dont want veteran guys who will only be around 2-3 years tops.. that will do nothing but make them a middle of the pack playoff team who makes the 2nd round and perhaps scrapes their way into the 3rd round

Theres no way Burke would give that up for one year of Getz...extension would surely have been discussed...and yes, Leafs need to do that all day.

Every team needs quality vets.....we dont have any, but I'm all for signing a quality vet to help these kids.

oh i dont question it would be a gamble.. but one burke would have to seriously think about taking.. getz is only 27.. and he came on much stronger once carlyle was fir.....
