That is okay then, and yeah eh I see the comparisons to ponikarisky and it is kind of true right now. But he has potential to be so much more. Not just because he is a leaf but I think this is his breakout year. On another note, it's funny to think that he is the same age as Schultz - maverickJ
I thought he would break out last year after his great playoff run. I hope he succeeds. He is playing with less talent now though. Before he was playing on a line with Giroux or Briere as center mostly. |

are you serious? how can you not LOVE the man. - Leaffan8113
That's a debate I'll never win in here, but as we keep losing and our need for a |MATS| type player increases I have slowly come around...

Interesting I guess the playoffs brought out the offense in them. - maverickJ
pretty much since Carter trade they picked it up apparently.
Saw a package on TSN about them late in the season and it was season long - everyone was just baffled at the lack of production - wasn't for lack of chances - they averages over 30 shots per game regular season.
They just couldn't score... |

yup more people realizing just how good he was, cause the wingers are actually better now than they were for much of his career, but the team is significantly worse.
he carried the franchise for a long time. |

I am still convinced that is a result of the defensive system. Maybe it was just a matter of them getting the Defensive aspect right. Maybe the coaching helped or maybe Carter was that push over the line. |

I'm definitely a Sundin fan, the crap he got in this town never made any sense to me. He did a lot of good with almost no help for the majority of his time here and people still gave him poop. |

Then why were they 11th in the league in shots per game? They averaged more shots per game than the Leafs, hell they averaged more than the CAPS.

That is also a good point, he won't be starved of talented line mates if he plays with Grabo and Mac. It could also help if he has to step it up, put a player in new role and you don't know how he will react. |

ya for sure, but not like Sutter opened up the offense and went run and gun.
The Kings reasons for not scoring most of the season wasn't system, it was mental |

I didn't watch a lot of Kings games in the regular season, but I would assume they made sure not to be caught defensively, so they probably would turn over the puck and one guy would skate in and take a shot, you could lead the league in shots and have the least goals for. Quality of shots is just as important as Quantity |

My head liked him.
My heart never completely fell in love with him.
He always played harder in blue and yellow than blue and white.
And in the end, he decided that he could walk away from the Leafs. That was his right.
But if he wasn't emotionally attached to the Leafs enough to stay, don't fault me for being able to get over him quickly. |

not realy laughable. Hell a shootout win here and there, and you can completely shuffle 10th through 15th last season in the East. Will likely be the same next seasons.

Well before last season everyone was saying all the leafs players can't do as well as they did last year. Well that works both ways I expect better goal tending and kuli to have a much better season. |
