I've never said you're UG.

I've made my points about why the Leafs aren't a lottery team several time here today.

I don't think the Leafs were really as bad as they finished last year. 3 wins puts them in 10th. Improve the PK 2%, and they pick up those 3 wins.

Not that big of a stretch. They need a boost to get into the playoffs via significant trade, but they aren't a lottery team next year - Carlyle's defensive style will bring GA down, and the offense will still be there, might even be improved if JVR and Kulemin both have decent years.

- Big_Lightnin

I don't see offense being the same. When teams change into defensive systems they almost always have troubles scoring goals no matter how many stars they have. Look at LA, there biggest problem was offense and they have plenty of players who can score they were just defensively minded.

christ could you imagine a 30 yr old Sundin playing with Kessel right now. Holy (frank).

WHY CAN WE NEVER HAVE MORE THAN 1 GOOD PLAYER AT A TIME

Maybe there is some unwritten law? I really hope Lupul and Kessel have the magic together again, that would be sick.

well, that, and they couldn't hit the net for most of the season. Wasn't that they weren't getting chances, they just couldn't score.

Once they started clicking their offense went lights out - big reason they just had a parade

Good point. Unfortunately I can't see JVR being a true #1 center. I think he'll just end up back at wing.
- NickTheKid87

Centers don't get injured as much as wingers either, so if he can pull off centerman duties I would feel a little better about him seeming frail in philly.

I'M not 100% on that stat in the nhl btw, I was watching some show the other night on hockey injuries and the majority of injuries were coming from wingers they said.

I actually disagree they didn't have a dynamite offense most of the time in the playoffs they usually won close games where they dominated and the other team couldn't score

You know who this team needs, Mats Sundin
- maverickJ

I never loved Sundin to be honest, but you sure as hell don't know what you truly have intil it's gone and gaping in your face.

If he would have played the whole year with Giroux I think he would have put up 30 too. How many concussions has he had? Just the one?
- maverickJ

I believe so. He needs to better utilize his size too. Right now he plays as a big finesse player and not a power forward. Still waiting for him to commit to being more physical.

thye averaged 2.85 GF/G in the playoffs, behind only Pens and Flyers and that's was ridiculous.

2.85 would be 8th in the league in regular season. That's pretty good offense. Pens were highest on the season at 3.33, just 1 more goal every 2 games

That is okay then, and yeah eh I see the comparisons to ponikarisky and it is kind of true right now. But he has potential to be so much more. Not just because he is a leaf but I think this is his breakout year. On another note, it's funny to think that he is the same age as Schultz

It wasn't about NHL injuries dude as I had stated it did not say what level of hockey the injury data was coming from, It was indepth analysis of types of injuries at what positions and the types or recurring injuries players get and the frequencies of positional injuries...that's all man

it's shocking how many people thought he was never as good as Clark.

Clark had 1 good season where he was close to or over PPG. Sundin had 13 of them

Interesting I guess the playoffs brought out the offense in them.
