I agree...but that's a lot easier said than done.

Yea true. This offseason will determine whether Burke can save his Job or not. He needs to work some magic or he's gone

Grabs, Gardiner and a 1st

For who? Teams aren't lining up to give away first line centres regardless of what you offer.

We can probably improve in net, maybe not Luongo but someone, without breaking the bank.

Didn't think Burke ever said that - Carlyle said it the other day, but Burkie said last week he is confident they will upgrade at center this summer.

Doesn't mean they will, but that's what he's saying

- Big_Lightnin

Yea I think you're right. Carlyle is the one who said it. We're just going to have to see. It's always fun talking about it

the fact that Gustavsson was their best goalie is a statement to just how bad the goaltending was......
- Barx

Riemer deserves a Mulligan. All you need to do is look at Miller to see what kind of effect a concusion can have on a goaltender. I expect him to bouce back and have a solid season. That being said Bringing in a Luongo or a Backstrom could pay huge dividends to solidifing the back end.

Again....avoiding the main point.

Signature move.

Why would you think that you would need to ban me? I've done nothing but discuss my point of view on hockey issues, pertaining to the upcoming NHL season. My debating has not bordered on ignorance to others, or insults. So on what grounds do you consider me worthy of being banned? You can PM me, if you like.

For Getzlaf. That would be my asking price if I'm ANA.

Did you ever think that they may have just overachieved, for the first 2/3rd of the season? All teams play the same 82 game schedule. It is, what it is.
- JohnnyReb

fans are very quick to toss out their team's slumps as an aberration but not willing to do the same with their hot streaks. the NHL standings don't lie. everyone finishes where they deserve.

Exactly my point. A team is what it is, after 82 games. In the Leafs case, it's been the same consistancy, for the last 5 years.

that's a bit short. I've been saying Stastny won't fetch market value, but he'll get more than that.

and they'll want a Dman - Gunnar or Franson

MacArthur, Kuli, Bozak, Fanson does it and creates roster space.

Yes but what you fail to see is that when you combine Connolly with Bozak you get VOLTRON!

Well...considering your ability to mimic exactly what another user with a 1.5 year ban does...word everything exactly the same, push the same type of points and avoid any point that just might prove you wrong; it's a pretty obvious flag.

No PM's are necessary, you and I have had many PM's and I know you will never own up to anything.

You babble on about how there's absolutely nothing positive in leaf-land and everything every other team does is worth mentioning as a positive step, and you're doing this in a Leafs blog with a Carolina Hurricanes tag as favourite team...you really don't see any issues here?

And again...you continue to avoid my original point.

I'm actually fine with the Riemer/Scriven tandem and think they deserve a shot.
I can live without a number one centre with the hopes we can add one after the season when our useless contracts expire.
What I CANT live with is the absolute lack of NASTINESS.
The team is way too soft to play Carlyles tough, hard forechecking, defensive system.

I agree. When he did finally come back, the team was on their way to the depths of the standings. They were in total collapse mode and not even Patrick Roy in his prime would have saved that season.
