When he played, he played well. Obviously he needs to stay healthy, but that is not out of the realm of possibility.

I like Steve Ott, but come on. They've lost more than they've gained, and Miller's on the wrong side of his prime.

Ott and Hodgson for Kassian and Roy is an upgrade.

Kane is good...very good, but I don't think he's enough.
Poni-Antropov reunion 5 yrs older than they were in Toronto isn't helping anything.

Kane's ascent and Jokinen's soild dependabilty is an improvement.

I just think Devils are going to be a mess early in the year, especially Brodeur, and I don't know if they'll be able to recover.

I didn't, I just assessed what you said and disagree. 2 points out of last place and if all things are equal, we are still 2 points out of last place. No team that was within 6 points of the Leafs, have gotten worse, they've actually added assets. We've traded an underachieving defenceman for an underachieving winger. We've added a third line forward, however we've lost two 3rd line forwards(Crabb & Armstrong). Same goaltenders, same centres, same lack of grit. Where have we improved over our neighbouring basement dwellers?

This team isn't far off in my opinion. Get another top 6 forward and a goalie and this team will be right in the thick of things. Getzlaf is an ideal fit between kessel and lupul

The Leafs are not better than the Stanley Cup finalist, even if Parise is not in the line-up.

That's a fact, here's hoping Burke is straight and true and will have "significant changes" by the time preseason camp starts.

Should be set for camp just to make sure he isn't tinkering before the start of the season and whatever he trades for (if anything) can be ready for camp day 1 ,no disruptions

Leafs were also 3 wins out of 10th, and lost more than that with a terrible PK alone.

Signing poni, trading for bobrovski, losing parise are hardly upgrades...simply signing a player does not mean it's an upgrade.

Like I said, the leafs won't make the playoffs and they clearly have a lot of work to do..my point was that you're going out of your way to say that everything the other teams have done are moves of progressions while what the leafs have done is not.

I'd make it less obvious who you are, any other mod would have you banned right now.

Considering the Leafs were in the playoff hunt for so long, I would say, with the minor additions so far and a better coach, their odds should be decent to get a pl ayoff appearance.

I would hazzard to say a total meltdown like they experienced would be RATHER hard to duplicate....

I know it will be tough. When Burke said that he's probably hinting that they will not be able to acquire a top center men in the offseason and that jvr will fill that in. It's nice thinking that Getzlaf is a possibility but it's probably not going to happen

Didn't think Burke ever said that - Carlyle said it the other day, but Burkie said last week he is confident they will upgrade at center this summer.
