No, to me Getzlaf looks better with bigger players and Power Forwards. I'd rather see a line where Getzlaf has players who can take pucks in the dirty areas, not have to always be thinking pass first and throw the body around a bit. Cycling. I don't believe that Kessel and Lupul are good "Cycling" players unless sits on the PP. A player like Stastny to me seems like he'd fit in better between Loops and Kes.

I mentioned this when people were still all over the Nash rumours, the first line should be capable of doing everything even when defensively covered. The whole idea of JVR/Grabo/Nash and what they could do with the puck (Not just shooting and play making in the slot) leads me to believe it would be a better first line in Carlyse's system than Loops/Kessel line.

I don't see what's so hard to believe that if you trade for Getzlaf, he wouldn't slot in the first line with a pair of big bodied wingers who'll take it to the net, absorb contact and manage to make plays, cycle, throw a few hits and not be knocked off the puck. That to me seems would be the most logical thing to do in a Defensively Minded System. Kuli being defensively minded, Getzlaf having a decent two way game, and JVR who can make positional plays.
