#1: The Leafs won't get Getzlaf/Luongo.
#2: Jimmy Rimmer and Scrivens will provide decent, not stellar goaltending.
#3: The Leafs will avoid last years meltdown and slip into 7th or 8th in the East.
#4: We'll get dropped in 5/6 in the 1st round but get the playoff monkey off our back.
Agree or disagree, but I feel the above is pretty realistic. - clarkysduster
Disagree. As this team sits today anywhere from 12th-15th is where they'll end up.
With Price in net, a grittier bottom six and player developement/return from injuries you can bet Montreal will be closer to a playoff spot this year then they were last.
You just can't discount what a goalie like Price can do for a team.
Even though I hate them I have to be weary of them. Only team I hate more is Ottawa. - Canadian kid
Did you see Montral play last year? They were BAD. I just dont see them coming close to a playoff spot.
Does anyone see Price get frustrated in Montreal and wanting out? I think they will be a bottom team for the next couple years, and Price could bare the brunt of any fan reaction and might want to leave...?

Ya, this person is deluded. If we go into the season with Riemer and Scrivens there is NO WAY we will make the playoffs! Get real people! Have you been watching the Leafs the last 7 years? No Goalie=No Playoffs!!!!
With those goalies we will end up contending for the lottery again...
That is far too specific for Eklund. It also has a source.
The Eklund version is...
I have heard from more than one trusted source (twitter) today, that a skilled player, having a problem trying to find a team(Semin), may be signing soon(no idea when but I have to milk this one for as long as possible) with a team in the east, but don't discount a western team making a late push (For those of you keeping score, that covers all the teams in the league). I'll follow up and post more on this later (when it happens, no matter who, no matter where... as of now, I broke the signing!)
Unless Price brings them to the playoffs like 2 season ago, they will most likely miss.. by short.
With Tinordi, Beaulieu, Gallagher and recently Galchenyuk and Collberg, the habs are pretty deep in solid to high end prospects and should not be missing the playoffs for another 2 years.
If Eller or Plekanec can be traded for a Bobby Ryan, I beleive the habs can make the playoffs.
That lineup would be able to push the current sens, leafs and deffinitly sabres down the northeast.. I beleive.
Cole and Gio should be good for 28-32 goals like always.. Paci with Desh all year should be able to get to 35-40.. Eller playing with skill wingers should bring his offencive numbers up to 50 points atleast, and Ryan can help with another 60.. should be enough scoring.

Where did all these Kane for Price rumours start? There is absolutely no way that happens. If Price were to be dealt he wouldn't have just be signed to a 6 year contract.
Secondly.....Budaj and Desjardins as goaltenders for the habs

Another deluded fan...
Good luck with Prust and Armstrong... - Hockey_Reverend
Problem with this team for years was being pushed around. Our top end forwards were abused because we had nobody to step up when the going got tough.
Adding Prust and Armstrong and even Bouillon helps with that toughness that was severely needed but Bergevin still has a ways to go. He is not finished tinkering with this team however in the meantime we are more competitive than we were lost season.
What I like about Prust is the fact that Plekanec is not needed to play those long, hard PK minutes. he was our best PK player for the past couple of season and now he won't be relied as much. He can focus on offense which can only be a positive.

That is so bad - NYIDRIVE4FIVE
Depends. If Pacioretty, Eller, Desharnais continue to develop up front then we can see some positives.
Alot of qustion marks for sure though. I hate saying IF but I:
1) Markov can regain his healt
2) PK can continue to develop as our #1 D-man
3) If Emelin, Diaz, Eller, Pacioretty, Desharnais can develop
4) Bourque can regain his consistent 27-28 goal seasons
5) D can play solid in front of Price
6) PP can return towards the top the standings just as they have done for the past 4-5 years

I don't know how can anyone can think otherwise. Even with a goalie or if Remier plays the way he did 2 seasons ago they'd be in a dog fight to get in.

Anyone else want to talk about how delusional Boltsfan is? I just got on this thread and he had the audacity to put the Bruins at 7th in the east, just because Tim Thomas left? Sorry, I got news for you, but I and many others believe Tuukka is a better goalie. Keep pumping your tires big guy, you're lineup isn't a 2nd seed in the east. And Lindback isn't God.
Edit: also you mention Pouliot scored 32 points for Boston and will be on your third line, just to let you know he was on our third line too, so I don't know what you were getting at, or if you just don't pay attention to anything else, but the bolts.

I don't see the goaltending and defense being a problem for you guys. They definitely need to upgrade the offense a little.
I think the Bourque acquisition was overshadowed by the abruptness of Cammalleri leaving. Bourque had a strong season 2 years ago, and I expect him to regain that form now that he's settled.

Twitter is blowing up with a rumor that Semin is gonna sign a 1year deal in Pitt tomorrow. - CanuckYou
Not saying it can't or won't happen----just that it hasn't happened yet. Rumor was a Windy City fire started by a cow kicking a candlestick. No truth yet.
Doan is a mediocre slug, always has been. 50-60 point a year forward who takes way too many stupid penalties, never grew. Hope to god he doesnt wind up a wing, still holding out hope for Semin, I guess. - yave1964
After a comment like that I will disregard everything you ever say from this point forward.

Colby is a Funny Dude I reccommend following him on Twitter,........However, his game is brutal, his foot speed is gawd awful, and staying healthy for this dude is immpossible..........wait and see....

Armstrong is not tough. He is just a pest and will be injured most of the year. Prust is a 4th liner...
If Price does not stand on his head, Montreal cannot win...
It is funny how before the season people look at their lineups and think, 'Hey, this isn't bad'...
But when the season starts, Markov blows a kneee, and Price doesn't stand on his head every night, reality kicks in...
And it is the same for my Leafs...
Our defense is weak, goalies are horrible, and we have no #1 center, and have an overall soft team that does not compete... Let me translate that for you= no playoffs for us!
I wish I could agree but almost everyone in front of us has gotten better...and we've stood pat.
I honestly see another bottom 6 finish for us. It won't be till the year after we find ourselves in the playoffs.
God I hope I'm wrong though. - Canadian kid
I would agree with this.......I don't see any playoff hockey this season for the leafs.......however........we must have the best (frank)in golfers in the NHL next to edmonton.........maybe we can challenge for the British Open title??
