No one has mentioned much about Bobby Ryan...last I heard the Islanders and Flyers were in big on him...any truth to that and where do you see him landing? If the Isles can land him and bouwmeester, that would be a huge upgrade for them. - hockeylax8621
Seems like a good fit for the Islanders. I can't see Philly wanting to move the pieces that would be required to get him. |

Anyone know anything about the negotiations for the new CBA? I can't handle another lockout or a shortened season.... - clarkysduster
From what I heard it sounds like they will get a deal done. Players already said they would play with no CBA if talks were good.
I would bet we see hockey in september |

A GM would have to be nuts to even consider Tim Thomas. He is way too much of a wildcard... a maverick.... ok, those are the nice words to describe him.
Bottom line, there is nothing saying he won't have a hissy-fit and go home in the middle of a season... or GAME for that matter. |

ehhhh
buff/ enstrom
bogo stick/ hainsey
vs
hedman/ carle
salo/ brewer
hedman/carle are clearly better than buff/enstrom
and salo/brewer are exprienced and bogo and hainsey are kinda mixed. that one is kinda a toss up.
so id take the bolts D over pegs. - boltsfan48
This is a joke right? You can't be serious ...Winnipeg's top 2 pairings kill Tampa's bud |

He's worth the gamble considering I doubt the price would be too high. Is it possible he's just posturing to get out of Boston? |

Definitely a great fit, but do you think they can pull it off? What would they need to give up? |

oh, sorry.
Montreal obviously has a massive advantage in net but I think the Leafs have a much more balanced forward attack, deeper defence and higher-end scoring talent.
That being said, if montreal finished above toronto, I wouldn't be that surprised either.
After the top 4 in the East, it's anyone's guess who gets in and who doesn't. - clarkysduster
Didn't see this post my bad, I don't think Montreal will finish higher I think they are both pretty even right now.
I just thought it was odd you had Montreal bottom 3 and Toronto fighting for 5th. |

Doan is a mediocre slug, always has been. 50-60 point a year forward who takes way too many stupid penalties, never grew. Hope to god he doesnt wind up a wing, still holding out hope for Semin, I guess. - yave1964
You obviously are not a student of the game! Shane Doan is a monster player in every aspect of the game so where have you been. I do think Semin would be a great fit in Detroit especially playing on Datsyuk's line. Semin is pretty much one dimensional, he can score and that is the bottom line, put the puck in the net. I believe Doan is the main reason Semin, Nash, Ryan etc are still out there because Doaner is everyone's first choice. |

I think Boltsfan got hit with a bolt of lightning and therefore is a little dazed and can't think straight
I take Winnipegs D over TB in a heartbeat. |

tampa STILL ended up ahead of winnipeg last season... with a top 4 of hedman, brewer, Lee, and mikkelson and roli in net.
tampa still has the FAR superior team. btw peg, thanks for letting stammer get to 60 on you. |

Bobby Ryan and Nash are clearly better additions than Doan... don't get me wrong Doan is great and would help any team.. but you would be crazy to want him more than Nash or Ryan. |

First line is nice but when you compare the rest of the roster to the top teams in the East it just doesn't even compare ...Tampa will do well but aren't close to being a top contender - keatondixon
Carle is unbelievably overated and overpaid. Soft as butter and far too many brain cramps! Won't miss him at in Philly, at least I won't. |

What do you give up to get Doan? Answer=Nothing. What do you have to give up to get Ryan or Nash? Answer=all your star future players and draft picks
That is my point, you get arguably the most effective player without giving up any of your future. Doan will make any nhl team better that they were without him.
Get my point? If they were all free then yes Ryan and Nash would be at the top of the list. |

Make it happen...We have Galchenyuk to replace eller in a year or two and many many D prospects comin to fill in for Subban....I think it is the media and Subbans actions that make him seem better than he is..Just me

why would the hawks trade kane for a dman? their problem is in goal. keith, seabrook, hjalmarsson etc...this deal makes no sense for them. fyi habs fans, it needs to make sense for the other team too. |

Yeah I get that im just saying they are better players.
Doan has never even been a ppg player, hes a good leader and hard worker but not a difference maker.. he would be like when the ducks signed Koivu. |

you could probably get a quality goalie if you have subban and a 1st to tangle infront of a team....hawks fans need to think about what assets there getting in order to get what they want in the long run

Patrick Kane for Subban Eller and a 2nd - mikehopfhab81
Subban is going nowhere. He has all the tools to be a Norris trophy winner in the near future. Not really a huge Subban fan but the skill set and power in this man is unreal. Once he get a little more experience he will an allstar every year.
Kane is an immature little baby with the heart the size of a pea. His skill is undeniable but he work ethic and off ice behaviour is questionable. I mean I can't blame him but to rate the player honestly you have to take that into consideration. |
