By the sounds of that i don't think Lou does much of anything. Maybe signs one guy and i dont think it will be semin...Good decision i guess signing anyone right now for too much would be a mistake. Oh and Merril still hasn't decided if he is going to go pro or not yet. From what Conte says about him he should be a real solid player.

I read something that Merrill is most likely leaning towards returning to college. I personally think it's pointless for him to turn pro, unless he hopes to play one year in Albany and then make the jump. Otherwise, it's probably best for him to return to Michigan and Lamoriello has always given the prospects the choice of what they want to do. Unless something happens in camp to drastically change his mind, he will be in Michigan.

He also hinted that 8 defensemen means someone is expendable, or practically saying that a trade might happen. I think he is going to package a defensemen, prospect, and a pick for a top-six forward, leaving the top six with Elias, Henrique, Kovalchuk, Zajac, (new forward), Zubrus. Third line will be Tedenby-JJ-Clarkson, and fourth line will obviously be Carter-Gionta-Bernier

I thought there was something wrong with Elias... he wasn't playing that well since the Florida series

Just throwing it out there, but Sykora had three less goals and 10 less points then Semin did last year. Their salaries where also about 6.1 million dollars apart as well.

Semin also has 3 less career points than Parise in 40 fewer career games.
