I know you have probably seen Ullstrom more than anyone else but that's quite an assumption.

Yea...nice emotional conversations here on Hockeybuzz...but that is a daily occurance. The good news is that if anything, this proves that the Islanders have passionate fans and if/when the team turns all of this around, the fans will be back. Now, "turning things around", includes:

- New Arena. The Islanders are NOT moving out of NY. That will never happen in a million years as that would be such an embarrassment to the NHL that they could not hold a team in the largest market in the world. They will probably go to Brooklyn for 3-4 years then have their own arena (maybe in Nassau but most likely Queens maybe Belmont). Bettman will force CW to sell before the team leaves.

- For me, this is the last year to give some of the current guys a chance to shine. If KO and Bailey play as they should (and as they were drafted), then we probably didn't need to make a big splash in FA this summer (remember, this class was not great and players were way overpaid). This is also the last year for me to wait for DiPi to get back. If he can't play, move him out or something.

thats quite a jump from what i said....all i said is its july 9, implying that there is time to make adjustments, see whats necessary, if kids are developing, if a tweak or 2 needs to be made. it was implying that knee jerk reactions are annoying to read about every day

No, Milbury did the major damage, on two consecutive draft days in 2000 and 2001. THAT was the major damage that destroyed our chances of having a new building a LONG time ago. Hempstead would have looked foolish telling a successful team that was again the pride of Long Island to f*ck off. Milbury destroyed that chance, period.

Gotta disagree.. Milbury was a tool, but Torrey made sure to leave this franchise in very good shape on the ice, Maloney come in & dismantled it all.
Nassau isnt paying for a new arena even if we are cup champs.. dont fool yourself.
