It's actually such a no-brainer move that it makes me wonder if maybe Darcy is still trying to trade for a #1C.
- Pierceme69

Even if Regier were able to acquire a #1 center, signing Arnott is still a no-brainer.

My guess is he is still trying to a deal for Ryan. Arnott, Langkow and Wellwood could be plan B.

I personally dont want to get a "big time"#1 center. We have Hodge, Ennis, Grigorenko, Girgensons. not to mention Adam, Catenacci, Sundher coming up.

Hodge, Ennis, Grigs and Girgs are only gonna get better!!

yeah...Shane Doan whining about "missed" calls and the Brown hit half of that clip....great charachter guy. This from a guy who "saw no evil" when his guy Torres missled Hossa to end his season. Puhleezzz...spare me!

Nice to see we resigned Mancari but damn how many third and fourth liners do we need here ?Come on Darcy .

Good for organizational depth.....and good for Rochester. Good for the people of Rochester to have a team that has the players to win and bring the kids up in a winning environment.

From the last blog:

Come and go .Nice to see the old timers are still here. Whats your instincts telling you about what might be going on behind closed doors with Sabres
- buffalo 1

Methinks they are looking to solidify the center position, but since it's very hard to get a true #1, they're probably trying to find a veteran that can slot in in a 2-3 line role to provide support for the young guys we are hoping will take the reins over the next couple of seasons.

amen. upgrade if you can but who the hell is going to trade a developed product that's young for a question mark unless we throw the kitchen sink in with the deal.

people need some patience. the best thing we could do is get a really strong winger via trade (ryan, nash, etc, etc) and wait for our guys to develop. it's not the quick fix or the sexy option but it's team building.

to piggyback off of the discussion from yesterday on WGR, i would ABSO@#$@#LUTELY offer sheet Weber! We have a decent prospect depth at the moment, we have basically all we need aside from another goalie, but we have a decent one as it is (i'm kidding, miller is awesome!) and why not offer sheet Weber and if you get him you're instantly the scariest @#$@#ing team in the east, maybe the whole league!

myers, shea weber, ehrhoff, mcnabb, leopold, regehr, mike weber and sulzer, go get em!!

1.) I would try to make a deal with Calgary for Iggy

2.) Offer them Pysyk or Mcnabb with a second round pick.

3.) Would Calgary do it?

Iggy adds 20 to 30 goals, toughness and leadership. He is on the tail end of his career and would be much cheaper in terms of trade value. Calgary has also shown a willingness to trade with Buffalo in the past.

Darcy has stated in the past how he doesn't like offer sheets so that would be a big time indicator that he is a different GM with Pegula behind him. I love the idea.

Realistic options that would play here in that role ?

It wouldn't surprise me if Regier has an interest in Kyle Wellwood.

i'm glad you brought that up, i assumed he didn't like them but i'm glad you can mention that.

pegula is the one that gives the orders so if darcy wants to dazzle and/or is being told by terry to "just @#$@#@ do it!" then there you go. i would love the move as well because i really think it would shut up darcy detractors quite a bit. how bold of a move and how beneficial it could be for us, man.

only downside is if they can't match, it completely screws up Nashvilles program, an organization that i really respect for how they've been able to operate in comparison to some of the other newer franchises of the last 10-15 years. oh well though, it's happened to us, gotta play the game.

I know wellwood has his fans round these parts, but am I the only one who has concerns with his work ethic? Plenty complaining about our own guys laziness but I'm pretty sure Mr. Wellwood has had his fair share of showing up overweight and out of shape...poor off season work ethic.....just saying that rep has followed him around and it's concerning to me.

Edit....also isnt he another smallish center....rather have Arnott, at least he brings size and cup ring.

That could be true about him, don't know. He has bounced around the league too much. He did have a solid year in Winnipeg.
