Carry 3 tenders and have one of them dress as the 13th forward(or number 1 Center) every other game.
- Oilhab

That makes so much sense.

If he did come back it would cause some problems in your top six, no?

problems easily solved if we thought he could be effective

Would Leaf fans rather have a decade of Luongo, or 1.5 seasons of Kiprusoff at the deadline if Calgary is out of it by then?
That may actually be a good fit.

Well if he plays crap we can always bring scrivens up and trade reimer

Or just trade scrivens if he continues to play good on the marlies

- Mapleleafs_91

Or keep both and figure out who's legit? Kind of like the problem L.A has - Quick and Bernier.

Problem is with Luongo skill set Nd length of contract you don't use him as a mentor for the next few years he starts 70 games not 40-50 he isn't a mentor for a few more years he is your concrete starter

well lets say luongo has a good 4 years left in him while mentoring reimer at the same time and reimer gets some games throughout the years to come, once luongo hits 37 reimer will be about 28 years old and he will most likely be ready to start if it is indeed reimer. The problem with scrivens he is older 2 years older than reimer and he would be 30 years old which i think hed be better off used as trade-bait.

Kipper all day.

The only problems are that a) Feaster doesn't seem too keen on blowing it up in Calgary, and b) if he did blow it up, those players would command insane returns.

It's too bad for Calgary that Feaster isn't working on moving Iggy and Kiprusoff. He's really screwing you guys. You could have an accelerated 2-3 year rebuild if he were willing to part with them.

And the bonus is, Kipper is already used to Dion screening him on point shots

Possibly but I doubt it, we have a plethora of centers, I'm not sure how many natural wingers we actually have.

Krejci has played wing with us before and he wasn't near as effective. It's more likely a trade would happen in that case, or someone would be sent down, but it's not likely to ever happen.

reimer 1988, scrivens 1986... and no quick didnt have a mentor... but we dont know for sure how scrivens or reimer will pan out... nor do we want to see them both be a bust and miss out on luongo. Its all for insurance practically, we tried running with 2 unproven goaltenders and that didnt really work out.

Scrivens isn't young and just dominated the ahl, and he won't stick around much longer and we don't give him a real shot at the job???

Well if we can get luongo cheap who is already a proven goaltender.... then scrivens can be used as trade-bait. Reimer has shown signs of promosing brilliance in the nhl, scrivens has not. We no nothing of scrivens and how he can handle the nhl. Alot of goalies dominate the ahl or younger leagues but cant handle the nhl. Its a different ball game and i get yeah he deserves a shot scenario but your best bet if we did acquire luongo is to give some games to both reimer and scrivens and if they accumulate trade value then trade one of them away...
