The only way Chicago will get him is if they significantly outbid the competition.
- Brandon_Lee

If Bowman outbids for Luongo, and Luongo can't deliver anything better than a first round exit, I've got a feeling Rocky will clean out the whole (frank)ing house.

And we'll still be stuck with Luongo.

There is no guarantee that Luongo can come here and poop out a Stanley Cup. It's a nice idea that he can conceivably improve things, but that's on paper. You still have to see how the season shakes out.

Fair enough. I understand that most fans across the league think this.

However, assuming this is true, why just "dump" Luo within the conference? If Gillis just wants to offload him, he would send him to the Panthers. We never play them, and it's where Luo wants to go.

The only way Chicago will get him is if they significantly outbid the competition.

- Brandon_Lee

I hear you on that. But if the Hawks have the best offer and it's not what Gillis wants is it best for the Nucks to hold onto him? Or do you think he will trade him to a east team for little or nothing? I agree he can't just dump LU, but Gillis can't hold on to him either. If Gillis holds on to LU, Schneider will have LU sitting there and knowing if he struggles he will be pulled(even if that is not the case) Then LU will start being a problem if he does not play. Lu has to be traded before the 2012-2013 season starts no matter what team he goes to.

Actually I'm thinking about next weekend. Oregon Country Fair, Naked Babes painted green prancing about chanting "it's 420 time" and such.

This Hawk fan agrees with you entirely...

...and I just luv the idea of Lu to the Hawks. The drama, the anticipation...one thing is certain, the Hawk fans (and the league really) would be invigorated by the deal...in both a positive (me) and negative (EKolb13) way.

Agree Lu can't poop out a cup(frikin hilarious) but he could help the Hawks team poop one out. Much more then Crawford just pooping on himself would.

Obviously, there is plenty of poop being thrown about!

I still think Bowman is starting the season with Crawford/Emery, and he'll pick up a goalie by the trade deadline.

I don't see Luongo coming here.

I don't either. Just would be nice at the right price. I know you hate the thought of it. Just do not trust Crawford to carry this team to the promise lands.

Who does? Since the 2011 finals, Crawford hasn't shown anyone anything to have confidence in. I agree, I don't think he's the guy. From what I've seen of him in his time in Rockford, he's never impressed me as the goalie of the future.

As long as he's not having dinner with McD, I think we're in pretty good shape.

@the300level as long as Lu hasn't been reported being seen at Ditka's, Gibson's or any establishment in IL.

Sent right after. You are not the only one.

It seems some in the organization feel the same way. Back a few years ago when he was coming up, they signed Hooey to a big deal and then went out and got Nemo...seems they were always trying to 'recruit over him', even though he had a couple good shows in the NHL in a couple spot starts.

I thought that was all Dale and Stanley didn't feel the same way, then Stanley signs Crow to a huge deal which seemed to support that. Then this season happens and you see all these rumors as early as the TDL about moving on a goalie and then all this off-season stuff, telling me perhaps Stanley has come around to not being a big believer in Crow. Maybe some left-over scouts are in on this. Who knows, but I get the feeling the Hawks want to move in another direction as well.

I really think Bowman became a believer in him during the second half of the '10-'11 season and his showing in the first round.

I really think Bowman will wait to pick up another goalie sometime before the trade deadline, if Crawford hasn't improved.

I just do not see Gillis trading with Stan. Gillis is prob. using Stan to up the price of bobby. Feels like we have seen this dance before. I am sure this has been said before, but when push comes to shove he is going East. Or Gillis has a good chance of being the next 'Buckner/Bartman' story on ESPN's 30 for 30.

Perhaps. And Crawford was pretty good that year, but I think they realize that while Crow is capable of good seasons (and bad), good games (and bad), good moments (and bad) that he maybe lacks top end talent to truly be consistent and maybe lacks the intangibles that maybe could prevent him from giving up some chit awful goals in crucial moments of post-season games.

Or maybe they love him. Who knows with Stanley.
