7 days in.......................... All zzzzz's - mrpaulish
I actually thought this might happen with the "We don't need to improve our roster, it is set, but we will explore tweeks" speach Hawk Nation got. What I am really surprised at is the TOTAL lack of movement from the other 29 teams (no movement AT ALL in the past 2 days) |

A number of teams are likely in on Nash/Ryan....And that would prevent them from making other deals first.
I don't know what the excuse is here...

Yeah that's definitely it. A lot of the teams that like to trade are waiting for one of the big boys to move. All it takes is for either Nash or Ryan to go then there will be a frenzy. Problem is those gm's don't want to look badd so they will keep waiting. This could drag out for a long time. I'm not too excited about any of the free agents left. So we just have to wait for a trade. I figure they want something big to happen for the convention coming up |

JJ, you reported the Hawks wanting Winnik bad back at the trade deadline. He is available and would look great next to Shaw and Bolland. WTF is the hangup? |

If I am Stan I offer Hammer, Frolik and Beach (or similar low end prospect) to Gillis for Lu. If that doesn't get done, I offer the same package to Minnesota for Backstrom.
Stalberg would get offered to Edmonton for Tuebert.
Olesz would be buried
Keep Montador as #7 dman until healthy and then move him up to #4 with Oduya
Keith-Seabs
Oduya-Montador
Leddy-Brookbank
3 pairs of Left and right handed dman on each pair. One PMD and one checker on each pair. Not the greatest but better than some of the pairings from the past

If Chicago wants Luongo, their offer would likely have to be significantly better than what Toronto or Florida have offered. That's the only way I can see the deal. Some sort of package based around top nine forward and a top prospect (either Dylan Olsen, Brandon Saad, Mark McNeil) and probably a 2nd or 3rd round pick. |

If that's the case, gonna be an up and down year...borderline playoff team.
Unless they upgrade in goal, or Crawford returns to 2010-2011 form. |

Keep smokin Not going to happen. Our crap contracts for your crap contract. Maybe throw in a pick if Gillis is lucky. Otherwise send him to Florida or Toronto. We could use Lu here but only at the right price. |

Well that's what it's going to take, Vancouver just isn't going to move Luongo to one of their biggest rivals for "crap contracts".
And say what you want about the term of Luongo's contract, the Blackhawks would be a significantly better team with him in net. |

I have the same type of rage right now directed at management.....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uzmedfnDw5k - mrpaulish
Hey Paulish...
No rage here...not worth it.
But I am concerned that management can't, or won't make the changes we all seem to feel are needed.
If SB and Co. are keeping all their beloved prospects out of faith, I sure hope they develop into the stars they envision.
Nothing worse that a buster draft pick that's kept in the system too long...then they're no good to any club...
...unless it's Dan Cleary |

Thus, it won't happen. No chance in hades you come away with Saad or McNeil for Lu...Olsen is nice, but he's movable especially with Clendening rising up the charts.

This Hawk fan agrees with you entirely...
...and I just luv the idea of Lu to the Hawks. The drama, the anticipation...one thing is certain, the Hawk fans (and the league really) would be invigorated by the deal...in both a positive (me) and negative (EKolb13) way. |
