He has talent, but his head and heart have not been in the game. He's been inconsistent. He really can't be considered much of a prospect unless that improves.

Quick had already established himself as the starter and now as an elite goalie. Bernier hasn't had that chance (which is why he wants out of LA)

The doubters on Quick were around for awhile in the past.

Bernier played 25 games in 2010-2011 and back then I talked to people who thought he would be the chosen one and would take over eventually as the #1.

Bernier was drafted by LA the year after they took Quick....In the first round at #11.

Seems like the Hawks should be saying who are the best remaining FAs that solve their problems - 2C, crease clearing D, PK, face-off winners - even with Luongo or Doan these issues remain - solve them NOW, while all the other teams are concentrating on the stars.

Then getting Luongo or Doan is a bonus.
