I agree. I think Cody and Ennis are fine at center, and Grigs will hopefully be that number 1 guy. I kind of get confused as to why some people here think Mcnabb is a sure thing, yet think Myers will never turn out. If you compare Myers first 20 career games to Mcnabbs, Myers blows him out of the water. Who is to say that Mcnabb will not struggle alot in the next 2 years.

I wouldn't trade away too much to get a piece we need. There is no point in trading Vanek at this time. Maybe a couple of small moves, trade a few d-men for other assets, but no major trade. Next year there are a lot of FAs to go for. If it would help, we could go for them at the trade deadline if those teams are out. If Buffalo could trade for Ryan before the season and then say go for Getzlaf at the trade deadline, could have the same effect Carter and Richards had.

Now look at the list of RFAs and I think Buffalo should consider putting out offer sheets for a couple of guys. Mainly I would be looking at Edmonton and Hall or Eberle based on what they did with Vanek. Then I would look at Boston and Lucic or Seguin. This is based on the fact we can't stand Boston and I don't think we would be cutting any ties with them as future trade partners. Here's a list of a few of next year's RFAs.

Thats a hell no on Lucic.

I love Ehrhoff, think he should get Roy's A IMO, but he is not a shutdown player on his best night IMO. Makes nice 2 on 1 breakups and can play both ways, but he finds himself out of position too much to be that lockdown guy. Myers, when he is playing well, is flat out the best player on the ice IMO.

Half of the people on this site. Alot are convinced Myers will not live up to his contract, and are fine with trading him and throwing Mcnabb right into playing big minutes. Who is to say he will not struggle for a few years.

Methinks they are looking to solidify the center position, but since it's very hard to get a true #1, they're probably trying to find a veteran that can slot in in a 2-3 line role to provide support for the young guys we are hoping will take the reins over the next couple of seasons.
