Erhoff's turned out to be a major asset down the stretch and when he was injured our team had some major issues on the back end.I think his play has made Myers expendable in the right trade senerio.

I agree I love Ehrhoff, but the organization will not part with Myers he is their one untouchable for some reason.

Doesn't matter how long he's been here I know what Ehrhoff brings to the table and I think he is a complete d-man locked up at a great cap hit.

I would've done it, I think Myers is good but I am not as high on him as so many other sabres fans are.

Regehr and Leopold are OK...
And I think you were referring to McNabb as the young guy that looked good, but it remains to be seen if he's ready for top4 minutes for a full season... Guessing NO, bc Darcy said he expects him to start the year in Rochester

He is incredibly overrated
We have Ennis & Hodgson already...
And if Grigorenko isn't ready this year, he will be next year

Trading Myers for getzlaf (or any other center) just creates a hole on Defense we'd have to fill

We have filled our hole at center
Grigorenko was the best playmaker in the entire draft
Ennis looked really good at center
And I know he got off to a rough start, but Hodgson is going to be REALLY good too

We are better off at center than ppl think

Agree with alot of that.I do belive Seltzer and yes McNabbs the guy I was thinking of can play in that top 4.Sekera s still here too isnt he as well ?Not sold on Hogie just yet but I think the Russian will step in on day one.Getzlaf just one of those guys I think would make a difference on this team but to be honest Id like to see them go after Semin to play with our new number one draft pick.I know I go against the grain here but it could be some thing special for years to come .

Thats when he had Tallinder flanking him who was underrated himself.I dont know if Myers will be the number one but hes a top 2 IMO.Ehrhoff is everything Myers is right now and his leadership showed going down the stretch.I dont know how many times I would glance after Miller frooze the puck and after the Lucic hit I would see Erhoff standing there .Not saying Myers didnt do that but it seemed to me Ehrhoff made it his mission to protect him after that hit.

Sulzer looked good w ehrhoff, but pretty bad without him... There's a reason he's been a #7 guy his whole career
McNabb will be very good, but getting consistency out of young defensemen is tough

I agree. I think Cody and Ennis are fine at center, and Grigs will hopefully be that number 1 guy. I kind of get confused as to why some people here think Mcnabb is a sure thing, yet think Myers will never turn out. If you compare Myers first 20 career games to Mcnabbs, Myers blows him out of the water. Who is to say that Mcnabb will not struggle alot in the next 2 years.

I wouldn't trade away too much to get a piece we need. There is no point in trading Vanek at this time. Maybe a couple of small moves, trade a few d-men for other assets, but no major trade. Next year there are a lot of FAs to go for. If it would help, we could go for them at the trade deadline if those teams are out. If Buffalo could trade for Ryan before the season and then say go for Getzlaf at the trade deadline, could have the same effect Carter and Richards had.

Perry, Getzlaf, Iginla, Morrow, Weiss, Gagne, Penner, Fisher, Zajac, Hartnell, Clowe, McDonald, Burrows, Antropov

Now look at the list of RFAs and I think Buffalo should consider putting out offer sheets for a couple of guys. Mainly I would be looking at Edmonton and Hall or Eberle based on what they did with Vanek. Then I would look at Boston and Lucic or Seguin. This is based on the fact we can't stand Boston and I don't think we would be cutting any ties with them as future trade partners. Here's a list of a few of next year's RFAs.

Lucic, Seguin, Marchand, Skinner, Hall, Paajarvi, Eberle, Fraser, Clutterbuck, Henrique, Bailey, Hagelin, Turris, Simmonds, Kennedy, Berglund, Wheeler, Little

I love Ehrhoff, think he should get Roy's A IMO, but he is not a shutdown player on his best night IMO. Makes nice 2 on 1 breakups and can play both ways, but he finds himself out of position too much to be that lockdown guy. Myers, when he is playing well, is flat out the best player on the ice IMO.
