Bak to the lecture at hand...The Sabres need to trade Foligno before he gets exposed as a player that just cant skate.

Sam Gagner centered Kane in juniors, but keep going with that idea.
- PassionBucket16

Sam Gagne also played Wing his rookie season. Played 79 games only took 299 faceoffs. Thanks for continuing to prove my point though...

Your NHL IQ is awful... There should be a quiz people have to take in order to sign up for hockeybuzz.

So do players not play different positions when there younger?
- sbroads24

Possibly.... You said he was drafted as a center, he wasn't. And I don't get anyone wanting him to play center here. He didn't seem particularly good at it, especially faceoffs to my recollection

Ok lil bro....I have coached Hockey, played hockey and watched hockey for 30 years. I love Foligno, but he is a 3rd or 4th liner. He will never score 25 goals in a season. Sorry, he is a tuff kid and does a helluva job in the corners, but not a top 6 ever. Trade him while the iron is hot.

You think his value is high enough to get us a top 6 skater!? No...

Why trade someone that actually played well last year. I don't think people actually expect him to be a top skater on the team.

BTW I'm only a couple years younger then you if you have been watching hockey for over 30 years. And coaching kids hockey doesn't make you a scout or a expert on talent.

Lets trade one of our few big, tough, semi-talented wingers that we have so many of.

Sorry, you have to trade him, he is NOT going to resign with the Sabers.

Might not have to be this season, but by next. Because he will be gone. So why not while you can get a solid player who is much more likely to resign in Stasny?

I think Tropp is a better prospect as a tough forward then foligno. I think Ott fuills that roll nicely. We also just drafted a kid that is already bigger faster stronger and better then foligno (girgensons). I know Foligno was a late season hero, but he is not a potential top 6. I would put him in a package to get a top 6. I think He and Sekera is a good start.

Why could he never be a top 6 player?? I disagree about Tropp as well. They both have talent and play gritty but you need guys like Foligno. They play big in big games

If Sekera/Foligno/1st rounder nets you a Ryan/Stastny then obviously you do it....

Thing is. THEY AREN'T enough...

The Sabres are cool, but some of the fans are tool bags who have no clue about the game of Hockey.

I am starting to not like Foligno just because of the high value some fans are putting on him. I mean come on folks! Foligno couldnt even score in the OHL.....His best season was 14 goals. Last year in Buffalo he scored on 27 percent of his shots. Now is the perfect time to trade him. People thijnnk he is a favorite fopr rookie of the year. If someone would take him.....LET HIM GO!

I think if the 1st round pick is Grigs, you can get Staz for sure and maybe ryaN.

We wouldn't get anything significant for foligno so why trade him?

You are wrong. He would be a major piece in the Ryan or Stasney trade. I know it would take more, but he gets you started.

Fact is, trade wennis and foligno if you can get Ryan or Stasney. Neither of them will ever amount to an All Star.

That doesn't make our team better. We give up two top 6 players for 1. Any trade that involves us trading 2 players for 1 and neither is a defenseman is a bad one.
