I have a better idea. How about Garth for Adrian Dater?
Hey Garth, will you just offer everybody up on the Sabres roster, until a trade is actually made, then toot your own horn saying that you "called the trade"???
Dealing Vanek leaves us with a LW corps of:
Ott
Foligno
Leino
Gerbe
Scott
The 5 of them combined for 31 goals last year.
Not a wise move, especially for an "enigmatic" center, as you called him. Why the hell would we trade our top LW-er for an "enigmatic" player?
If I'm trading one of our top 3 players, I'd better be getting Ryan Kesler, Anze Kopitar or David Backes in return. |

IMO it's hard not to sign Semin when we need a center, if they won't move Ennis foe Ryan then just add Semin without giving up players. - SABRES 89

People seem to forget that the only reason Vanek's salary is what it is.. comes after he signed a 7yr $50 million offer sheet from Edmonton few years back in which Buffalo matched After being burned by losing Briere & Dru.....Sabres could not afford to lose another big name.
If Buffalo did not match we would have 4 #1 picks from Edmonton...something interesting to note as we look back - Skeezix459
do you trust that they would have made the right picks given our draft records at the time? I dont |

Luke Adam, and Joel Armia can be Lw's. I say trade Vanek. Just not for Statsny. |

I think they are both about the same. IMO your really underrating Ennis. He had a rookie year of 20 goals and a half year last year where he was our best player. We dont know how good he can be yet. |

We also don't know how bad he might be.
He still has to prove he can produce consistently over an 82 game stretch for me to consider him untouchable...and I have an Ennis jersey and is probably my favorite current Sabre. |

Exactly and you want to trade one for a winger we need centermen. To treade ennis there would have to be another trade in place for a center. |

agreed. both have #1 potential in terms of different skill sets. I see Hodgson being @ low end Drury, high end Stamkos-lite. Ennis looks to me like a Claude Giroux/PM Bouchard type |
