The Leafs have FOUR assets that are worth anything and they are Jake Gardiner, Kessel, Lupul and their first round pick. The reason that Burkie and the Leafs have done SQUAT this offseason other than talk about holes they need to fill is because he (and the Fanbase) aren't willing to part with any of their ASSETS to GAIN ASSETS. You have to give to get leafs fans, until you realize that enjoy missing the playoffs, AGAIN.

Those are the Leafs' best two forwards, and an all-rookie Dman from last year, but Gardiner's still just a question mark too. But I'd say they have a fair amount more than just four assets from top to bottom in the whole organization right now. A lot of the assets they have are junior or minor pro guys that have had really good years. They can get better just by holding on to those assets. A ton of young former first round picks in the organization now.

Beyond that, as far as Burke not doing squat and giving to get assets, I'd say trading Schenn for JVR is sort of the exact opposite of that and just happened.

I'm just saying in a 22 minute radio interview with Luongo, right now, why wouldn't you ask him about Toronto? It's ratings, it seems kind of dumb to NOT ask

But he still is under contract with Vancouver and has a code-of-conduct when it comes to interviews. It is possible that the Canucks asked him to be quiet... but

and this is a big but....

CKNW is not the station that holds the Canucks rights. They used to but lost them some years ago to Team1040.

This was coop for CKNW big time. Anyone is th Vancouver market knows there two stations hate each other.

So it behooves (nice 3 dollar word huh) me to think that CKNW would not go for broke and ask.... but then again... maybe they got the interview BASED on Luongo wanting to get the word out opublically that he prefers Florida.

People even suggested Gardiner in a package. I'd even say no to Gardiner for Lu straight up...
