Great then. So you agree they should pursue Luongo. Even if it means trading a first, if absolutely necessary. - Gunslinger

Hey, we can keep drafting Tlusty's and Schenn's instead of getting Luongo with those First Round picks, right?
Seriously though, I'd say trading the 2014 1st wouldn't be a horrible idea seeing as that's when:
A) Vancouver could like begin to hit a downturn if they haven't already
B) We'll be competitive enough with Trades (Luongo) prospects and new FA's filling in holes in our line up to consistently make playoffs
C) Can actually begin attracting FA's because the team is on the cusp of being a contender
2014 1st, Kadri, MacCarther, Salary Dump, and some conditional crap for Raymond/Luongo and a 2nd - Viktory

I think his argument is that Luongo would make this team better. And I gotta say I agree with him. - weirdoh

If nothing develops in the way of a first line center, would you bring in a vet like Arnott? Not necessarily for that role but he can play any of the top 3 lines.

I don't even think I'd bother to be honest. I'm not worried about teaching anybody. If there isn't a deal to made the (frank) it. Just go with the flow. |

St. Louis needs Arnott too much
Would love to have Morrow though

12 year NHL career, 5 post seasons, 1 of which he was surplanted as the starter
Doesn't exactly scream "playoffs guaranteed" to me |

Considering how big of a factor consistent goaltending's been post-lockout in keeping us out of the playoffs, to say that Luongo in net for 60-65 games isn't a guyarantee is absurd.
If we had a goalie who actually inspired confidence in the team last year we wouldn't have fallen off the face of the earth. We needed a goalie to steal a game or two for us and we didn't
Whatevger your beliefs are of Lu long-term, the short term would get us back into the post season |

The long term anchor isn't worth the short term gain IMO, and personally, I don't think luongo is the upgrade that gets the leafs into the post season anyways.
I could easily see the leafs missing again with luongo in net |

Goaltending didn't start the downturn. |
