Good for him
I guess I just thought he was soft because he usually doesn't finish his checks I find.

Well then i guess your opinion has changed on him.

Bozak would be the 2nd most physical forward on Montreal.

Grabbo and Kule soft?? WTF is that all about??...Grabbo is most fearless player on the team next to Brown, and Kule is prob the best 2 way grinder we have...soft doesn't mean fisticuffs, it means fearful of checks and incoming shots, and afraid to grind in the dirty areas....like kessel...but kessel is our sniper....he has a different role

Interesting, but I take NHL hitting stats with a grain of salt they aren't always the most accurate. I still feel like Bozak is softer than Kulemin
- maverickJ

LOL
Nice reply....so if the NHL hitting stats had said that Kulemin had more hits, you'd be fine with it?
I love it.

Ok, let's define "soft" before we start tagging players with it, ok? In my mind, soft is the kind of player who a) has low hits b) avoids difficult areas in the ice c) gets pushed around easily.

Phil Kessel is soft. There were a few points in the season where he was going in the corners, was driving the net, and subsequently, he was rewarded with it. Why he stopped? I don't know. Regardless, he hasn't done that consistently enough to not be considered soft.

On the other end of the spectrum would be guys that play on the edge, sandpaper guys, agitators, fighters, bangers. Guy's like Clutterbuck, Dustin Brown, Mike Brown.

Somewhere in the middle are guys like Bozak, Kulemin, and Grabovski. They don't necessarily play on the edge, but they're also nowhere near soft. They're average hitters, they're not afraid of corners, they don't back down when challenged, but also do not seek out fights and scrums, nor do they chirp and agitate.

Kulemin's closer to the middle, Grabs further to the left, but yeah, something like that.

So Kulemins gotten KOd by Gleason and Grabos fought Neil, but hes still softer? Not to mention all the other poop Grabo does. How about Kulemins 6 pims this season.. he doesn't seem to be sticking his nose in anywhere.

Grabo is a little tank. Never seen a guy take so many blows to the head and never get hurt

He's our best defensive forward, he's not supposed to take penalties. Fighting is a skill that very few in the NHL are actual good at. Gleason is one of those. Props to Kulemin for sticking up for his teammate and fighting a guy who he had to have known would've knocked his block off.

I'm not saying Grabs softer, I'm just saying they're closer in toughness than you had in your scale.

Ok, besides losing a fight to Gleason and having low PIMs, what else makes Kulemin soft?

What makes him not soft? Don't bring up his hit on Kaleta either, or how he is so strong on the puck, because, well... he wasn't strong on the puck last year.

I already explained my definition of soft and playing with an edge. Kulemin's in the middle, that's all I'm saying. You had him at 2 on scale to 10, 10 being the "tough" end. I think he's closer to 5. That's all.
