I for one, have no problem with Riemer and Scrivens. Team isn't ready to make a splash yet in the post season so let them grow for another season and gather more assets. See where they sit in a year from now.

I'd take Backstrom because we'd have a year of a decent goalie and it would finally give Harding HIS number one spot in minny.

I still think it would be hard for Burkey to even get Backstrom at a fair price. I mean Minny is looking pretty good for this upcoming season, why would they wanna trade their potential starting tendy? And i don't think Tim Thomas'
style would fit well with the leafs at all. I think they just need to pick up a goalie who at one point in his career had a good run at least once, just as insurance. it is a very real possiblity that both Scrivs and Optimus Reims will be god awful this year. You wanna have security behind Reimer, not another unproven goalie. Hedberg was the guy i wanted on July 1st but no dice

I assume with the team being vastly improved that Backstrom will want to stay with the Wild. The only way he is leaving is if they don't want him back or they think that Harding is ready/better.

I think when all is said and done, to have a chance at an elite goalie who can carry you to the playoffs for the next 3-4 years and not get him would be bad for TO. I'm not saying give up the farm but those on here who say NO for no reason are foolish.

1) He is NOT going to chicago just saying.

2) He will come to the leafs and ONLY for the right price and no overpaying bullpoop of top end prospects or our top players for a goalie whos contract extends till hes dead.

3) Florida may be the best team ahead of the leafs but with florida tied up with a good goaltender in theordore and markstrom coming up soon and clemmenson tied for 2 more years... iunno if florida can put a package together yet alone does it make sense at all to acquire luongo for them at this point in time when theodore did a really good job for florida.
