I could actually see that as happening. Reason being, Kulikov has been super injury prone. That's the most fair offer I've seen so far. Plus, we have some great D prospects coming up and signed Ellerby to a one way offer today, giving us 8 blue liners on a one way deal. Something has got to give.

Sure, but Franson is no Lamborghini. The Leafs took $7m in un-insurable salary to acquire him. That's a hefty chunk of coin for a depth Dman who had trouble staying in the lineup. They paid for him, just not with player talent which is normal currency used to buy players.

There was talk before the year that Lombardi wouldn't even play a game. The mere fact that he's an NHLer puts him above what they gave up in Lebda and Slaney. I don't think the salary really hinders them that much at all. Franson was great in limited minutes, and with Schenn gone could see his role increase.

I don't defend how they used Franson, but that's a different matter than the trade itself. I'll settle for 'they paid an extremely low cost for the value of those two players'.

That's what I'm hearing. Theodore doesn't want to go there because of him. This is stupid because if this deal doesn't happen, you now have an angry Theodore manning your net during the season.

One man's trash is another man's treasure. Nashville was more than willing to part with Lombardi and Franson.

Lombardi played 62 games, put up 18 points and a team worst -19. All for $3.5m. Seems like his playing was more of a liability than a boon.

Franson is a reasonable player, but this wasn't Patrick White and Daniel Rahimi for Christian Ehrhoff and Brad Lukowich. It was no steal.

I have had very direct and comprehensive discussions with Gilles Lupien, and i can honestly say that you are in fact, not him.

He has a decent sense of humor where as in your case....well.....
