I could actually see that as happening. Reason being, Kulikov has been super injury prone. That's the most fair offer I've seen so far. Plus, we have some great D prospects coming up and signed Ellerby to a one way offer today, giving us 8 blue liners on a one way deal. Something has got to give. - Panthers88
Don't think Jovo would waive to come back here and play as a 6th/7th d-man. He's in a perfect situation since he's living in Florida and is on his last contract before he retires. The guy is living a great life right now. I could see Ellbery being apart of the trade since he doesn't look like he'll be a top 6 d-man in FLA next year. Kulikov's name hasn't been mentioned in all of the rumors so far, and there have been quite a few rumors. I think FLA might be pushing to add someone like Upshall as a dump and Gillis doesn't want to do it. |

One man's trash is another man's treasure. Nashville was more than willing to part with Lombardi and Franson.
Lombardi played 62 games, put up 18 points and a team worst -19. All for $3.5m. Seems like his playing was more of a liability than a boon.
Franson is a reasonable player, but this wasn't Patrick White and Daniel Rahimi for Christian Ehrhoff and Brad Lukowich. It was no steal. - micah555
Just as Lebda and Slaney are not even on par with White and Rahimi. Comparing trades to assign the 'steal-est steal' is silly though - now instead of simply talking about assets relinquished, assets gained, were talking about the new roles of players on Vancouver, San Jose, Nashville and Toronto. I could care less how Ron Wilson used Franson and Lombardi (for what it's worth, he used them poorly).
All I was saying is that the price was low for what they got. |

To be honest, Ellerby has what it takes. He is a massive kid who just needs to be utilized differently. He has a great shot but isn't responsible in his own end. He's still very young. He has the potential to be the next Jason Garrison. |

That's what I'm hearing. Theodore doesn't want to go there because of him. This is stupid because if this deal doesn't happen, you now have an angry Theodore manning your net during the season. - Panthers88
Where are you hearing this? |

I agree, I looked up some stuff and scouting reports on him and I really hope Gillis can acquire him in this trade. At worst, he'll end being a solid 5/6 d-man and I think he has the upside to be a second pairing type of d-man if he becomes more consistent and reliable in his own end. |

Not really, how can they blame MG for signing him, especially if he was willing to take a discount. They should be pissed at him and his agent, not the Canucks. Besides, Tallon and Gillis obviously get along well with all the trading they have done. |

Now Now Brian.
I tried talking rationally with you and yet you have the nerve to ask for Kesler in exchange for Grabo?
It's time for the grown ups to talk, unravel that tie and tell Nonis to stop txting me.

Still a long ways to go to beat out the TOR fans. They've had literally no actual big moves made to talk about, just scenarios and wishes as usual. |

You want more nothing? How about this:
Hockeyy Insiderr @HockeyyInsiderr
Furthermore, Luongo has yet to be asked to waive his NTC. Source says he would waive to go to #Leafs #BlackHawks or
Hockeyy Insiderr @HockeyyInsiderr
Moreover, negotiations between #Canucks and these teams are HEATING up. #FlaPanthers had the best offer in place as of yesterday.

Do you think Theodore is worth it? I don't know if I want him on this team. Don't like his judgement.
- bloatedmosquito
Like you wouldn't double bag it and go all in. Or is it the pink shirt that is putting you off?
I'd take Clemmensen instead if it's a big issue. Be nice to have the better goalie, but the Clem is a few 100k cheaper. Better him than a disgruntled player who doesn't want to be here. |
