Yeah because they don't actually see the taxes, otherwise they'd want to leave so they can spend more of their money |

Yeah, would probably see:
Kessel, Kadri, Armstrong, and a 1st for Malkin and Neal - cap1681
And who do we trade to Montreal for Armstrong? |

I don't think the Habs would let us trade Armstrong... but you never know. - Big_Lightnin

So... the Ducks were saying previously that they want to trade Ryan and get a legit number 2 center back.... but the new rumour is to deal Getzlaf, their only legit number 1 or 2 center, to a team who doesn't have a legit number 1 center, and basically leave themselves in the same situation.
The Ducks rumour makes zero sense. The Leafs don't have what the Ducks need and them dealing Getzlaf puts them back. No part of it makes sense. - Lohaus
Maybe there tanking next year to land McKinnon the #1 overall consensus next year... he's a center. |

You're really happy with that trade? honestly?
Edit: not trying to be an a** or start a war just really asking. If we were to trade you right now Seguin, Hamilton, and Knight for Kessel you would say no?
I feel like it's different, when you think of it that way. - celata29
Lost out on a few kids, yes.
As far as talent goes, Kessel has quite a bit. |

Pfffft.
Just put it on the pile - I've got plenty of those.
But hey, I'm pointing out that the Twitter guy has absolutely no credibility whatsoever, and that makes me a douchebag? - Atomic Wedgie
can i go with maybe?
but yes, i figured he had none. The guy has less than 100 followers. My grandma is more popular than he is. |

I completely agree he has a lot of talent. I am not one of those Boston fans that say he sucks, but am simply asking would you take Seguin, Hamilton, and Knight for Kessel? |

A coupel franchise centers looking like they'll be in that draft. Maybe that is the master plan. Sounds more like a Tambellini type of plan though. |

The Leafs best assets are the top 5 draft picks they will be holding for the next 3 years. If they were smart they would try to rebuild properly, through their system and the draft. Trade away vets for prospects. The LEafs have zero percent chance of contending for a cup in the next couple years. So dump salry, get younger and prepare for 2016. |

I actually really like Knight, I think he is a solid player that may take a few years to crack the line up, but is a 2/3rd line guy. |

Valid argument, but I want to know if you and I were GMs (obviously completely hypothetical) and I offered you Seguin, Hamilton, and Knight for Kessel, you would say no as of right now? - celata29
I would probably make the trade...but I would make it more on the hope and potential I see in those three (particularly Seguin) over the long-term....not their actual production and value today.

If we get Stastny and give up Kuli plus I'll be incredibly irritated with Burke...
Could potentially lead to me having to change my avatar. - Pen15
If it's Statsny I would be okay with Bozak, MacArthur & Franson.
They fill the need at 3C with Bozak, get some scoring from Mac and add a shot on the backend... |

You're going to downplay Hamilton that much? I think you could put just as much hope in his potential as Seguin's. |
