TheHockeyChat (@TheHockeyChat): Just spoke to my source from Colorado. I can #confirm that the #Leafs have made an official offer. Kulimen is part of the offer from Toronto
TheHockeyChat (@TheHockeyChat): I can confirm that at least 4 teams have contacted the #AVS regarding Statsny - #Leafs and #Rangers are #confirmed - working on the other 2
Really no idea to whether or not he's legit or has any credible sources himself but proof that i've seen the name out there. - mywordbud
Oh my, an official offer.
Well, that's different.
Is it on official NHL offer paper? Did it get stamped with the official trade offer stamp? |

Yeah hindsight is 20/20. You guys wound up getting the better deal, kind of reminds of a slightly lesser talented version of the Kessel trade. - celata29
Kessel was 6th in scoring this year on one of the worst teams in the NHL....I wouldn't count my chickens before they hatch. |

not to get Stastny... although if Rangers are offering Dubinsky, Leafs aren't getting him. |

You're really happy with that trade? honestly?
Edit: not trying to be an a** or start a war just really asking. If we were to trade you right now Seguin, Hamilton, and Knight for Kessel you would say no?
I feel like it's different, when you think of it that way. |

not to get Stastny - Big_Lightnin
If we get Stastny and give up Kuli plus I'll be incredibly irritated with Burke...

Ek, do your sources say anything about who the leafs are going to get to replace Dupuis and his 0 points? I heard they were going to sign a plank of wood out of the KHL. - Scruffton

don't make us start targetting Malkin and Neal |

Stastny is making 6.6 Mil per and Getzlaf is making 5.25 per. Dont get how is less expensive. - Ducksfan93
Getzlaf will have to be re-signed. He'll make at least that much. But this Stastny rumor makes a lot more sense. Colorado management has got to be tired of Peter micro-managing the Av's through the press. |

oh hell no I'd be fine with Kuli going for Stastny - Love Kuli but Stastny fills a need and Frattin can replace Kulemin, as does JVR.

Yeah, would probably see:
Kessel, Kadri, Armstrong, and a 1st for Malkin and Neal |

All depends on what's happening behind the scenes. The Ducks may have offered Getzlaf a deal hoping to lock up their captain for the future and he turned it down (similar to J.Staal and Pitts). If he has made his intention known that he has no desire to stay in Anaheim (without going as far as requesting a trade), the Ducks would be shopping him around.
Why?
You can have him walk away next year for nothing, or you can trade him for assets that will help rebuild the team.
Most likely, the Ducks would want Colborne, Frattin or Kadri, and then a combo of either a roster player and a pick, or a prospect and a pick.
Overall, a trade would probably look like
Colborne, Kadri, Franson, 2013 1st - ILoveLamp
I would totally make that trade for Getz...
Leafs lose nothing off their current roster...top6 would be solid
Kessel Getz Lupul

Talk about being fleeced! That would get Murray fired the second he thought about saying yes to that. As of right now, the Ducks dont need a D man AT ALL! Most of their D is locked in for 3 years at the minimum. Lydman will be a UFA next year and Fowler will be and RFA. Other than that, everyone else is locked in until 2015.
The owner of the Ducks loves Getzlaf, Perry and Ryan. He has said that they would have to get the completly blown away to trade anyone of them. I really think Stasny will be a Leaf before Getzlaf. And he is not small when it comes to hockey standards. 6'0 205 is not small. The guy plays big and can dish the puck. |

I wouldn't say I'm happy about it. But I also don't think it's as lopsided as many lead on.
Here's the reality, Seguin could potentially be a franchise player...but he also has the luxery of playing with some serious talent on Boston that open up a lot of ice for him. I highly doubt Seguin would be the same Seguin if he wore blue and white.
I've also been really happy with Kessel's devlelopment over the past 3 seasons. Ever since coming to Toronto, he has improved his production year by year. Does he have the same 'franchise' potential as Seguin? No. But until Seguin + fully develop, I hold my reservation on who won/lost the trade. |

I think JVR is great. His ceiling is higher then most leaf players. Much like Schenn I think he needed a fresh start. As I said I doubt Getzlaf will be traded to the leafs but in the slight chance he is the package going the other way will include one of Gardiner, Reilly, Kessel or JVR. I presume that Murrey is regreting moving Gardiner. - Bieksa#3
I'd be willing to put huge money down that none of those aforementioned players are traded in "this" deal. |

Depends what is going along with Kuli...although I would prefer Duchene... |

Valid argument, but I want to know if you and I were GMs (obviously completely hypothetical) and I offered you Seguin, Hamilton, and Knight for Kessel, you would say no as of right now? |
