Any projection on what you think Seguin tops out at for production? Pretty similar to Kessel? - celata29
Assuming he has help and doesn't have to do it alone? Probable a PPG guy. |

I think over the next few years, barring the trade or signing of a good center, his sustained production of those types of numbers are somewhat dependent on whether Lupul can keep up what he did last year. I know that seems like an obvious statement, but just making a point. - celata29
Kessel's total point production can be attributed to Lupul, I'll give you that....but not his scoring prowess.
If you take a look at his numbers, he's been a 30+ goal scorer since he was 20yrs old (4yrs)....he's only played one season with Lupul.
The only way I see his goal/point production dropping is a fundamental change in the system Carlyle implements....if it's too defensive, Kessel will struggle. |

Lupul helped a lot. Even when Loops was injured, Kessel continued to make his own chances. - A_Tree
Yeah he always will, but without that help I feel like I see him try and go one on one alot, which with his size is tough (I remember him doing it all the time in Boston, kind of drove me crazy once teams figure out he wanted to go outside then cut to the middle) It can lead to alot of turnovers, no?. I like when he cuts middle drives wide wrists it in the net. |

Kessel is a top line goal scoring forward. He gets a lot of flack but he puts the numbers up to back it. |

There's no reason to believe he won't continue to get 80pts. If the Leafs keep trying to improve why would his numbers drop right? He had 80pts without a Center but a good winger in Lupul. So If the Leafs adress their Center problem this summer then I would expect him to have even better numbers. - wolfos412
Yup!
Kessel is a 30+ goal guy by himself.....he's proven that....
Kessel is an 80+ pt guy with a good winger....he's proven that....
Would love to see what he can do with a big centre that can clear some space... |

Oh wow that's tough I have no idea man. He's a good kid 67pts 29g in his 2nd season He's about 1 year ahead of Kessel in that dept. as he had 19 in his second year and 36 in his 3rd. I also think it makes a huge difference that Seguin is on a winning team. Who knows what he'll do. |

Comparing Seguin and Kessel is like comparing Sundin and Mogilny. Any situation, I'll always pick the centre.....Now if Kessel would man up and accept a move to centre in between JVR and Lupul (since he spends most of his time in the offensive zone and neutral zone playing like a centre), things would be rosey. But he's too much of a wussy to follow the Pat lafontaine example. |

If Ducks are moving Getz...he is the #1 centre the Leafs have needed since Sundin left...
Ducks/Leafs have got together on a few deals, I could see this going down again...hard to come up with a value for Getz being that he is a UFA after the season and had a terrible season... - BoBBeR56
In terms of trade value. I put it right around Jordan Stall, its gotta be similar to that. |

TO in on Getzlaf??? wth...and LUO...who do they have left if the do get Ryan..?? for LUO - Canuckfan2006
As all fantasy trade proposals for Getzlaf do not include Komi, D'Amigo and a fourth rounder, it has no effect on the Luongo trade. |

Who says Hamilton (defensemen of the year OHL) is a #2? Just because he was drafted 8th and Seguin 2nd means (frank) all. Seriously, Hamilton is a monster. And not only that he is a brain child, he will learn everything from Chara, an elite defensmen, how to play. Seguin does not have an elite talent to learn from, nor the attitude, or size, to exceed like Hamilton does. Not saying Seguin sucks, just Hamilton hurts far worse in that trade. |

Yeah...I'm pretty worried about that...there was some grubling that went on at the end of last year between the two of them.
Apparently Carlyle's system won't be too restrictive....ie/ no trap...so hopefully it works out (from a leafs fans perspective anyway) |

Centres are required to go below the slot in the defensive end and support the D.
I hope this is sarcasm. |

Well he did play with Savard that one year....he was only 20 and lit it up for you guys.
I think a big centre would probably do him better though...he'd have so much open ice... |
