string cheese is in ob27's top 5 cheeses, from what i've heard.

I'd rather roll the dice on Mueller than Huselias, but he has had some real productive seasons and has been at least a responsible defensive player in his career.
- Jsaquella

I would go with either player. I just think they need to get another 20 goal scorer in the open market and keep the current players. Take the risk on a one year deal and see what happens.

Now that OB18 is agreeing, I want Bobby Ryan

I don't want to trade anyone either, but if the opportunity is there to add Ryan to the core then I say go for it. The biggest reason IMO being that I think feel as though he's the perfect fit alongside Giroux, although that's obviously not a given.

Problem is Murray is going to want assets that many of us don't want to deal.

I don't see it as a need, but it wouldn't hurt.

I would be willing to move a 1st rounder, MAB, and a prospect. Anything else I would walk away.

Either way, likely to be a slow weekend. Don't see any big forward moves happening until after Doan decides on Monday.

I'd move Read pretty much without hesitation + some other assets.

I really do like Jake and would prefer to hold onto him even though I've listed him in possible proposals. I think he can be a 70-80 point player. His offensive skill-set is very rare.

I could be alittle over concerned but I think they could use another player who can be a threat with the puck on his stick. They have some very talented young players but getting another veteran who has posted 50 plus points often wouldnt hurt.

Ideally, that would be Doan. The one knock with Huselias I'd have is that he's not physical. I'd like more nasty.

I dont want to trade Read bc his production for his cap hit value is too good.

As much as I love Doan, I'm not sure I want to hand him a 4 year deal.

I agree. I would like Doan also but I think he wants to stay in Phoenix and he will cost much more than any other player left on the market. Huselias isnt very physical but he knows what to do with the puck on his stick.

I don't really consider him part of the quote on quote core, and while I understand your point, I'd still make the move with MAB, and a 1st. Murray would want more anyways so it's moot.

That is a huge stumbling block. I'd be OK with 3 years, though.

Hell, if he came here instead of Pittsburgh, I'd be OK with 4.

I just believe that you need players like Read on your roster at that price. I agree that Anaheim would want more. Let Ryan rot there for that asking price.

Doan first choice is definitely to stay in Phoenix. If not he'd already be listening to offers, rather than waiting on Jamison

Yea, to keep him away from NY or Pitt it's probably worth it. Doan would be awesome in orange and black.

Another guy to consider for the 4th line would be Winnick. I believe he's still available.

Yep. I was talking about him tonight with some folks. He's a gritty bastard, would fit right in.

I honestly believe they need one more piece and thats a player who can score 15-20 goals. Also would help to add a 4th line center who can play special teams but losing Jagr and JvR is tough. Other players will step up and have better years but theres also players who wont score as much this year.

If the Flyers play better TEAM DEFENSE they wont need to score as much. This year Bryzgalov is going to have to earn his keep. He is making a lot of money on the cap and the Flyers will need him to be much better this year.

I think that Briere will have a good year. I think that Couturier and Schenn will have good years, too.

I'd just like to see the kids get a chance, unless it's a no brainer type move, such as Doan.

I'm a big Flyers fan, but don't get to see much of the rest of the league. are you referring to Peter Mueller of the Avalanche? Any reason they haven't resigned him?

I still think the kids will get their chance this season. The more scoring depth throughout the lineup the better bc we all know injuries will occur throughout the season.
