Can't blame Weber at this point for wanting to not sign the deal. Looks like he will be on his way out of Nashville eventually. This time around the Preds will have to trade him rather then let him walk for nothing (like Suter).

he can, but in reality that will never happen

Why is that?

There's a good chance that Weber accepts the Qualifying Offer, and plays out the Season. Unless Nashville trades him before the Season starts.

Would Meszaros, Voracek, Cousins and a 2nd rd pick be close to enough for Weber or is it a must to include Schenn or Couturier?

depends on the other offers the preds get and how desperate they are to trade weber. it would likely have to include 1 of them in a best case scenario, if they demand both homer better hang up the phone

We're a bit small again in the forward ranks. That's the biggest issue I have with this summer. Holmgren was bent on getting bigger last year....

That might be just part of what it takes if anything. As that stands he might laugh and hang up the phone.

What is cousins deal. Is he expected to compete for a roster spot this summer?

LMAO. What on top of the Schenn brothers would you have to add?

Personally as much as I like Weber I don't empty the vault to get him, it "could" gut the current roster & I'm not willing to do it.

You would have to include one of those two players: Schenn or Couturier plus add some 1st round picks IMO.

I was talking about this yesterday. I love Weber also but hes one player who will cost a lot of young players and his cap hit will be ridiculous.

I stay the course with this young group and add pieces here and there & only if Weber makes it to free agency or the package to get him drops enough to a place I am okay with then I do it, if not so be it.

and no player is worth all that. if he's available bid to up the price in case the pens or rags bid on him, but by no means go all in. if everything works out he'll be a ufa next offseason when he'll only cost cap hit. we are finally in a position with good young players and some promising prospects, i would hate to throw that all away, even for shea weber

I agree. I think the Flyers can wait another year when Edler, Enstrom, White and possible Weber become available. The only way I would be willing to upgrade the offense or defense is giving up a second or third round pick at this point. Keep what we have.

If I was Nashville, I'd want at least one of Couturier or Schenn. And I'd want 1st round picks, rather then Cousins.

I'm starting to think that way too. If he hits free agency. It would be great we'd have the money to sign him. I like our young Players too much to trade them all way. Trades like this haven't worked out for the flyers in the past

why not offer Read and two firsts for Ryan? Ducks are sort of rebuilding, we keep our young players and they lose salary.

That's too much for Ryan. I'm not giving up 2 first round picks for him. A player and maybe one 1st round pick. But definitely not 2 of them.

I would offer them Voracek, and MAB, or a prospect.

That's too much. Especially with the depth said to be in the 2013 and possibly the 2014 draft. I'll keep my picks and players and when the price lowers and only then check out if they can land him.

I am thinking off an offer that Ducks would really like. You are not going to get a 4 time 30 goal scorer by offering what everyone else would also offer. Put yourself in Murrray's shoes. And tell me what is the best offer you can make to get Ryan.

Ryan would complement our stable of young talented forwards and who can then grow together. And we find someone for Roo's wing.
