An elite offensive, puck moving dman at a very reasonable 5.2 for only 3 more seasons would do wonders for this team. The money makes absolute sense and can easily work.
Said assets goin the other way are either average or unproven.
We get drastically better immediately, and long term.

Funny that anyone thinks staying away from a player of yandles caliber and contract is the prudent move.

i don't want Yandle. want some one who helps us defensively. Yandle despite his offensive abilities, is horriable in his own end anf turns the puck over way to much. We need defensive defenseman now.

U mean other than n. Schultz and smid who are only defensive and petry whos 2 way?
Whitney might still be injured and j schultz is a rookie.
So at this point, we have no established puck mover, offensive guy. But we dont need an elite one?

Id love a true 2 way guy, but a defensive specialist would not be our first priority back there
