Dude if this guy is my number one goalie going into the season then this team is screwed he will have a .810 save percentage and a GAA of 4.03 and they will say how awesome he has done so far from coming back from injury

Are u serious? Like it is not a HUGE factor??!! Look at the NVMC calandar.. it is a friggin dump. It is a big issue. .. they are doing High School graduations there now b/c it can't get anyone to play in that dump. It has turned into a really big VFW Hall.

Of course it is! It's the worst dump in the league and possibly in pro sports PERIOD. If you (anyone in general) don't think players talk about that constantly in the lockeroom and while there, you've lost it. I continually go back to Spezza's comments a few years ago where he said he knew for a fact that players didn't want to play at NVMC because it was so bad (though he did go on to say he kinda liked it there). For us, it's a place we sit for 2.5 hours to watch a game, for them it's their office. it's where they hang out and spend a significant portion of their everyday lives. So when you have a stadium that leaks sewage on exercise equipment, has pieces of the ceiling falling in the stands, leaks and is just plain falling apart, of course it matters if someone is signing for an extended period. Add in an owner who's a bit looney and a team that can't get positive press no matter what, no support from local politicians etc.....

I do too but it's a mess now. Don't know if you've been up here recently. But it has the Best sight lines i have seen, no pun intended... It's also an experience during the playoffs. Ahhh remember those days???

Place sounds awesome for concerts & Not a single bad seat for a hockey game. On the other hand the concourse is a friggen mess, the bathrooms are ill conceived, the skyboxes are all outdated. The arena it self looks like it gets cleaned once a season... the floor is always sticky, the seats arent all that comfortable. But the BIGGEST problem for these players comming to look at signing with us.. is the locker room & the amenities for the players... If you have ever been in our locker room you would know its out dated... but if you ever saw the locker rooms of other NHL teams.... we dont even come close.. The Islanders' rival my old High School... THAT is a reason for no free agents. Trust me the players could care less if we have nice bathrooms, or good food in the concourse.. THEY want nice stuff for THEM.
