i agree 1000 percent..at the same time i understand if i was losing 20 million a year i would have a tight budget too...to a point i could see that..

Oh God...it's the arena issue again! There's no way I could say the arena is THE reason why this team can't bring in free agents, but it is certainly one of the reasons. Poor management, bad arena, lack of local support it all plays in to players knowing that Long Island is not presently a top choice or destination for that matter.

DP will be done after this year... I think we can all agree on this!!!

Dude if this guy is my number one goalie going into the season then this team is screwed he will have a .810 save percentage and a GAA of 4.03 and they will say how awesome he has done so far from coming back from injury

Nabby is our starting goalie. He was assured of that before he signed the extension. Dp is BACK UP... at best.

AK46 is worth it at the right amount of money. You just have to expect him to be a third liner. i don't think we ever coached him properly or gave him the right type of linemates after his best season.

It is a very realistic fear of mine. I never want to see this guy in goal again for this team let alone with the starting job. Nothing would shock me.

Agree....maybe RDP Will buy the Dunkin Donuts franchise that Kasper frequents. Kasper can then hurl ice mochas at him while spewing his venom about how much he dislikes the former franchise goalie!

Also I am sick of hearing that players wont come here cause of the arena give me a break. If the Islanders won the Stanley Cup last year players would be flocking here. All they care about is winning not the arena JUST STOP WITH THE ARENA EXCUSE

Are u serious? Like it is not a HUGE factor??!! Look at the NVMC calandar.. it is a friggin dump. It is a big issue. .. they are doing High School graduations there now b/c it can't get anyone to play in that dump. It has turned into a really big VFW Hall.

It's a write off for him. I'm sure the books balance out in the end with his other business interests.

To be honest... if he spent another six million in salary, attendance would probably go up.

It just has to look like they are trying to improve the team.

Trading for a star would help alot with the fanbase!!!

Free Agency was horrible this year... nobody out there.

Tavares deserves to play with a guy like Bobby Ryan, Evander Kane, maybe even Patrick Kane.

If they knew they were staying on the Island... then they would feel alot better about signing here.

I do too but it's a mess now. Don't know if you've been up here recently. But it has the Best sight lines i have seen, no pun intended... It's also an experience during the playoffs. Ahhh remember those days???

I listened to Boyes interview on the isles website and he said Weight reached out to him. Usually the GM reaches out to players but since Garth looks like a deer in headlights every time he talks in public maybe its a good thing that Weight does all the recruiting
