How long have you been following this team? You know as well as I do, that outside of a couple of washed up vets coming in for a tryout this will be the team. This is their MO. Why would it change all of a sudden?

That roster is disgusting. WTF was JT thinking???. He gives them a chance to bring in some more talent by working out a sweet deal for the Isles and they reward him by bringing in Brad Boyes Oh the humanity
- Vukota

Who the hell is out there worth bringing in? This team has stocked the cupboard for the first time in nearly 20 years! TWENTY YEARS! We've had virtually nothing on this team from the big club down and have had to rebuild the franchise bottom up. Yet again folks want us to 'make our move' by moving some of these pieces for a quick fix trade. They post from the computer as if it's just as easy as contacting another GM and saying, "here have this and I'll take that". Meanwhile we gasped at a decade of Milbury doing just that , sang praises when he left, and now clammor for that same type of knee jerk responses again. AMAZING! This roster is a result of a team that's had to focus on Junior hockey and the AHL. The last piece that would come together (naturally) would be the big club.
Hey, I'm with all of you...I want this team to win now and am sick of being a friggin' laughingstock, but in no way do I want the Isles to dump of 5 assets to get a 'very good player' that improves us for the next 2-3 years at the expense of the next decade again. No thanks! One player makes our top line better, 5 players potentially makes the team better.

I think the thing is here is that until they play in the NHL we really dont know what we got. Like said before half of the prospects usually end up doing nothing
- kasperrko

were not on the same page because you dont know the definition of the word "prospect"

once we are on the same page with that meaning, youll understand why people say they have good PROSPECTS....XXX, help me out!!!!

Yeah but prospects mean nothing if they dont develop correctly and cant pplay in the NHL . Then who cares about the prospects. IF these prospects are goingto learn from teh same coaches these other players learned from and make it to the NHL then well we are goign to see the same tema for the next twenty years

You guys are brutal.

Theres nothing on the free agent market worth signing....

I really don't think you guys get it.

They need to make a trade to get anybody now.

Everybody chant with me....

Botta... Botta... Botta.

Maybe he can be our new GM...

It's a rebuild... let's see where we are in October.

Exactly. The Kings also did something when their season was going in the right direction. What did we do? Oh, that's right. We didn't trade PA who walked for nothing(rebuild?)and signed our shatty coach on for another year. All sound moves by Snow . How can you even defend this?
- Cptmjl

They drafted for 5 years... then traded some prospects for veterans.

It's a good model to follow.

You wanted to trade PA for another draft pick... I though you wanted to stop with the draft picks....

Yes because you know how I live my life Listen the team has been a joke for how long now? I've been a die hard for 30 plus years and its taken up to a year or two ago to realize this franchise is doomed with these two at the helm. You can keep on believing in Wang, Snow, Santa Clause & the Easter Bunny and I'll continue to believe what I see with my own eyes year after year.

Who said anything about dumping 5 assets for a good player?? Another guy who likes to put words in others mouths You're right there isn't a lot out there but I'm sure there are trades to make. Other GM's make trades all the time. When is the last time the Isles made a trade where they got something back other then a draft pick or marginal player back?

Seriously with that? It probably cost more money for the lights lighting the booth then what they pay to be there. You really think Tattoo Lou is dishing out big money to sit in a half empty arena getting little to no business???

But still some will say what a great job and how amazing this team is. That boggles the mind. Guys we are stick with this type of team untila t least 2015 so I guess we should get used it.

Lets pray Boyes returns to old form. Lets pray DP gets injured again. Lets pray Grabner finds the net again. Lets pray that Bailey actually plays the game when he is on the ice. There is going to be a lot of praying and well If this is this roster then it is goign to be one of those years again.

In that case dump half the team bring every prospect and lets see what we got going forward. I am sure the prospects are just as good as our roster anyway

Don't worry by the end of the summer we'll be arguing over parking prices and the price of the half burnt half frozen pretzels that are sold on shopping cars after the game in the lot

Obviously when you're going to lose somebody for nothing then you get the pick before he walks. That's a no brainer (unless your GM is clueless) regardless if you need the pick or not. I won't do what a lot of you guys do on here and put words in others mouths but I'm pretty sure he meant deals that weren't done at the deadline for potential UFA's, but he'll have to answer that

you could say the same thing about the gm of every UFA that people are complaining we couldn't sign and didn't get traded by the deadline. My guess is he weighed the chances of getting him signed over the rest of the season vs what he was being offered for him and gambled and lost. A lot of gm's gambled this season. Things happen, but keep in mind people are crying over a 29 y/o career ahl player who couldn't crack the NHL until he got to the Isles and then was given top line minutes and even while playing on the second line still got first line powerplay duty playing next to Tavares.

How big a loss is this exactly? Late in the season I was thinking it would be a big loss for the Isles, but after doing some thinking about it all through the playoffs and the draft, I don't think so.

If he scores less than 40 points next season it'll prove me right. If he scores 60-70, it proves me wrong. Let's cry about it at that point.
