How much do you wanna bet fans of other teams hop on these comments right away with chirps that have been used more times than a porn star. |

Leafs could have a Colborne/McClement/Kulemin third line next year. Much cheaper than your $7M third line and just as big. - khanlari
Kings can afford a 3rd line at that payment with 9 million left over, with a 22 man roster.
It doesnt strap them in any way. Penner leaves, King takes his place while Tyler Toffoli fills in the RW3 in 2013

They have to trade him. Guys are bailing from that franchise and they need to restock. Sign Perry to one of those cap circumventing deals til the end of time now and trade Ryan and Getz and just completely restock the farm and add quality depth players.
In no way am I saying he will be traded to the Leafs, just what I believe Murray has to do for the good of the franchise. - SameOld
Agreed welcome the new Flames except with actual prospects |

How'd that turn out? If you ask me, it's better this way for the Kings. |

Eklund: Source, "San Jose has the lead for Nash" + Leafs Trade Update, Semin... - Eklund
It has been reported that Nash wouldn't accept a trade to Ottowa, which means there was probably a deal in place right? The asking price will have to come down for a team that Nash is OK with or he's not moving. CBJ have zero leverage, all they can do is threaten to not trade him. They are asking teams to give up their best young players that have very manageable salaries in a Cap league...to take on a huge contract AND give up their most valued assets. |

It's also hard to believe that any team would want to deal a four-time 30+goal scorer who is 25 years old and has three years left on a contract that has a cap hit of $5.1M. Most teams would consider that asset with that kind of contract untouchable as well, except for the Ducks.
Getzlaf has one year left on his contract so some type of deal involving him would not be surprising. - adamz86
That's what happens when a guy publicly requests a trade unfortunately.. Can't say who's to blame but rumour's leak out because someone wanted them to leak out.
Edit: Not talking about Ek's rumours. The only so called "insider" to not call a single free agent signing correctly. Loved seeing him getting chirped by dregs and someone else I can't remember who. |

I could see Marleau being moved to make space for Nash before Thornton. I'd swap Lupul for Marleau and continue to pursue Stastny. - khanlari
Marleau NMC and Cali born-raised wife apparently....Thornton Ontarian and former Greyhound...I'd go with Joe |

Pavelski is simply a better player than Nash at a significantly lower cap hit. Use that cap elsewhere such as addressing our need for speed and/or grit on the 3rd and 4th lines. |

Haha except Murray is not an idiot. He'll end up trading those guys for assets like the flames should have done with Iggy and Kypper.. Maybe the flames make the playoffs next year but lets get real, that franchise is (frank)ed. |

Hey I wouldn't complain for a second if Big Joe was here. My favourite since Modano retired and if anyone I'd want him to raise the cup for Toronto, not Dion. But why would SAN get Nash if they don't have Thornton? |

It turned out quite well actually
Detroit or Pitt didnt get Parise
But I started to realize as time went on that Kings probably would have been hancuffed if they had signed Parise. I really want to see Tyler Toffoli and Derek Forbort make the money in LA IF (BIG if) they pan out.

Not the same situation though. Bobby Ryan is 25 and Getz and Perry just turned 27. Iginla is 35 and Kiprusoff is 36. The three Ducks are just entering their primes, not exiting them like Iginla and Kiprusoff. |

Forbert will be one heck of a player, I see his upside as being similar to Seabrook, one of the steals of the draft - kovalchukTML
I have watched a few North Dakota games I am really looking forward for him replacing Rob Blake.
The kid reminds me of Suter actually (but thats me being biased again)
But Ill take a Seabrook comparison any day. |

I meant when Calgary went to the finals they were never the same after shipping out key players whereas the Ducks never maintain their play after the cup win for the same reasons |

I don't think I stated my argument.
Pavelski has been top 10 in the league in faceoff win percentage for 3 years running. He's probably the best 2 way forward on the Sharks and his offensive game is still improving. He outscored Nash last season as well both assists and goals. Not to mention the significantly smaller cap hit. |
