Sadly Mats never did, and probably won't get the accolades he deserves. He literally carried some very bad Leaf teams on his back. - faceto27
No.
He did not. |

Canada's sucks.
Sorry, but there you have it.
And for all the things I hate Mulroney for, inserting "God" into our anthem is at the top of the list.
Time to go back to the Maple Leaf Forever - and I don't even care if we use the new, sanitized version. If it was good enough for Anne Murray at the last Leafs game at the Gardens, it's good enough for me.
Oh, by the way, I was at that game. Just thought I'd throw that in there, to make you losers even more jealous of me than you already are. - Atomic Wedgie

K you only encourage my argument by saying that a #2 D got 98 million when available. And Franson is a quality defensemen, Allen is a quality defensemen. Phaneuf is a stud. He's not Weber/Chara, but he's in the next tier below them, and like him or not, he does have the intangibles to be as good as them. It's hard to say I know, but Phaneuf in Nashville's system could make him a regular Norris candidate. Just saying that is a guy who's vacant spot is not easily filled, nor quickly filled. Just like Sundin's (I am not saying Phaneuf is as good as Sundin).
And the Sundin reference was to show what our team is like with a #1 C, rather than a #1 D. Trading Phaneuf for a center is idiotic at best. I would much rather trust Burke in acquiring a center with an abundance of assets than moving a key piece. - Boosinicka
Seriously, what exactly is this based on?

And did Hoglund, Berg, Valk, King, and the rest of the team stand on a chair, and then literally climb on Sundin's back, and Sundin walked around with them on his back?
Is that literally what happened?
Literally?
No, not literally.
Of all the words in the English language to misuse, literally has to be the worst.
If you want to say that Sundin figuratively put some Leafs teams on his back and took them to the playoffs, fire away.
But don't say literally.
It makes me want to punch puppies.
Figuratively. |

Burke is an idiot I look at the Leafs team and you have to ask yourself would they have been better off with Doug Armstrong as gmt ?

So was I and the first game at the ACC, I have the limited edition print with the tickets in framed and hanging in my basement. So no jealousy here.
btw, Anne Murray did a great lip sync version of Maple Leaf Forever. |

It looks like it is going to be an old and grumpy day for Wedgie.
Might as well put on the cardigan, get out the hard candy, and sit on my porch, yelling at teenagers. |

You are still jealous of my stunning good looks. It's OK to admit it.
Mrs. Atomic Wedgie took my last ticket (MLG) and first ticket (ACC), and had them professionally framed along with the first program from MLG (I'm always tempted to crack it open and see if it is a replica, or the real thing - the guy said the real thing), last program at MLG and first program at ACC.
Looks real nice hanging in the basement. Yeah, that's where all my stuff has been banished to.
Same as you. |
