So the solution would be to add a 9th defender in the form of Franson? And carry 14 forwards? - Two_For_Truth

Diaz and Webber together are probably a little too raw, but a young guy up front like Geoffion or Leblanc instead would do it.
although I wouldn't trade make that trade if I were the Habs... - Big_Lightnin
See big, that's why i told you not to ask them now. Ofc he'd say what he just did, it turns the argument in his favor. |

So what's all this twitter trending idiocy about Bozak being "done" because Carlyle said he's going to try JVR between Lupul and Kessel? |

Well, Carlyle said he'd try JVR at center in camp.
This obviously means that he's the new top line center, and since Steckel and McClement are the best 3rd and 4th line centers ever, Bozak won't be able to bump any of them, so he's done.
Makes sense, no? |

Let us know the next time a leaf center scores 70 points, in fact hold your breath, could be a while. |

In Burke's vision, the players that are 'untradeable' are the ones that you cannot or very difficult find an upgrade for in their prospected role, taking into account the respective salary cap of the player..
So Kessel is 'untradeble', until a trade comes up to replace him with another first line sniper with a better upside at a lower salary (which is not very likely under the circumstances, since Kessel is one of the league's top snipers; this makes Kessel fairly 'untradeable' under BB's system).
The other players that have this status (role combined with salary)
1. Brown
2. Grabovski
3. Gunarsson |

Indeed, only the leafs and their need of a #1 center would have interests in such a trade. There is simply no reason for the Avs to go in that direction. They dont need MacArthur and they certainly dont need your AHL'ers seeing how they have twice the prospect pool that the leafs have. - PRICEless
What's funny is you don't see this stuff coming out of Colorado or Avalanche fans. Granted, not the biggest of markets but if you read Aaron Musick's blogs, there's very little talk of dumping Stastny. In fact, he has him on the 1st line with Duchene on the 2nd line and O'Reilly on the 3rd.
In a division that just got stronger with Parise and Suter, the Avalanche do not have a good enough reason to trade their depth at center. It's possibly the only advantage they have against their division rivals. |

Very good point indeed. Bottom line is : there is no point in them getting weaker through a trade only so the leafs can get a center. |
