yup...we did this a few pages ago
- Big_Lightnin

My bad, well what do you think is going to happen? I could see Bozak being moved to the Avs in a deal including other pieces to acquire Stastny. Then, I'd say, dump Connolly to our favorite dumping grounds, the flames. They do need a centerman, how about Connolly and a pick for Bouwmeester?

yes in every way, as long as we are not looking at stats, build, or experience...
- Big_Lightnin

Only reason why people say that is because they both came from Colorado..

As was already said, pretty sure he wasn't allowed to participate in the draft, and even if he did, no GM is going to ignore the scouts that have been working on the draft all year for a guy he just brought in.
- Feeling Glucky?

Yeah, i am sure Galy was the habs pick long before Dudley got there, the way timmins and Bergevin spoke about him, he was their pick from the get go.

Dupuis = McClement
- AdamFrench

That's great, since Leafs just 'lost' Dupuis to the Penguins, the team actually needed a replacement..

Lupul JVR/Kadri Kessel
Kadri/JVR Grabbo Kulemin
Bozak McC Frattin
Brown Steckel Komarov

No room for Mac or Connolly or Lombardi unless we roll 4 lines....we still have D'Amigo, Colborne, Ashton,.......

- JIMI-JAMES

Neither van Riemsdyk or Kadri will be 1st line centers. They might try it but it won't stick. Lombardi looks like a good candidate to end up with the Marlies but Connolly and MacArthur, if not traded, are likely to stick in the lineup. Frattin might not be healthy for the start of the season.

I hope so ....although this team has a recent history of jamming square pegs in round holes and hoping for the best.

Indeed.

I think Connolly would literally die on the ice if he played in the West.

ya Bozak is likely getting traded along with MacArther.

I could see the 2 of them and say D'Amigo in a deal for Statsny or Dubinsky. Probably have to add something else as well, but good money deals in each case.

I was initially against it, but the more I think about Dubinsky, the more I like the idea - he's got the physicality they need on Kessel's line, and good enough hands to score when he gets the chances. And I doubt it takes much beyond Mac and Bozak to get him

I get that feeling as well. After 30 games when he has 0pts and a -2, it'll be alllllll too familiar. PK specialist till death.
- markmark

Last season was the only year McClement wasnt in the 20-30pt range... and it's not like anyone else was scoring on that team. Guy puts up what you'd expect from a 3rd/4th line shut-down guy.

Dupuis
6'0 196lb
0.15ppg

McClement
6'0 205lb
.30ppg

Theres everything I have to compare on because I dont think Ive ever seen McClement play. McClement has A LOT more NHL experience which is why I have a slightly higher amount of hope.... slightly.

and he's getting it...

but he's not better than Kessel. He might be eventually... in fact he probably will be, but right now he's not.

That's all anybody's saying.

- Big_Lightnin

The difference between the two was 3 goals and 6 points and Eberle is two years younger. That's a pretty slim margin considering Eberle missed a couple games and the way Lupul was playing.

he's taking into account the Leafs history of owning the Flames in trades...

much like if we were going to trade with Boston there would automatically be 3 1st going to Boston...

The difference being that McClement was 3rd in PK time per game behind only Max Talbot and Tomas Plekanec. And the added 5% in the faceoff dot.

I'd prefer Stastny, Dubinsky doesn't seem to be a first line centerman to me.

Yeah, like you said, something along the lines of Bozak, MacArthur, and a prospect, or picks...

Connolly would most likely get knocked out , but wouldn't be our problem. Feaster seems to be driving them further into the ground, they don't have any capable 1st line centers, Connollys questionable but still, they have to move Bouwmeester at some point. Why not give him a shot, I mean we got Phaneuf for Stajan, White, Hagman, and Mayers...
