...I'll agree and say you're right, at least today. BB made it clear he signed McLement to play the 3rd line centre role. That may change but if we're making lineups based on today's roster he gets the #3 hole. Connolly gets to fight with Bozak for top stop and/or Steckel for the energy line.

McLement between Kulemin and Frattin ...all notorious forecheckers is a good start to finally having a real checking line.

Even if Connolly is completely healthy and even if his talent is at a high enough level that he can play with Lupul and Kessel, his faceoff abilities are horrible. Between that and his inconsistent play, he's either gone or on the wings.

The brows are the source of my power. And I think you overestimate your trolling. You're like the Chad Kilger of trolling. Not really all that good at anything, but dammit, you never give up, and we love ya for it.

All I'm saying is plug Kessel on a line with Ryan/Getzlaf/Perry, take out either Ryan or Perry and plug Kessel in, I guarantee he'd have his best season stat wise, and put up much better numbers then either of the two.

To me Perry is on the decline, I know he's 27, but he plays a rough style, will take a toll on his body. I wouldn't trade a 24 year old ppg player for 27 year old 60-70 point player, keep in mind each players linemates as well. Ryan, I don't think he has lived up to his #2 overall billing, another 60pt player, how is he more complete offensively? Keep in mind where these guys were at when they were 24. Kessel still has alot of time to grow and improve, in my opinion Kessel will be much better then he is now, and them at 27. I really like Ryan as a player, and would love him on the Leafs, but I think Kessel is better.

at 24 Perry had just finished his HArt Trophy winning season...

Perry has 1 off year, in which he still scored 37G, and he's a 60-70 pt player... Phil goes PPG for the first time in his career, and now he's a PPG player... doesn't really work that way.

Ryan is same age as Kessel, and has put up better numbers on average, including never having a negative +/- his entire career.

Kessel had more points this year, but Ducks as a whole had an off year.

again. you couldn't trade Kessel heads up for either player.

must be nice playing beside someone who would have won the calder if it wasnt for his injury, Eberle IMO will be better than kessel, just stating that at 22 kessel had no players of quality worth playing with, eberle had 2 1st overalls
