Thanks QP, I've actually run into several bears.
1) they rarely attack unless they have cubs you are almost stepping on
2) they run when you make loud noises and wave your arms
3) they are terrible runners down hill and if you change directions


regardless of all of the above including your post. Given that bears are not constantly a fast moving target, I still don't understand why people go hunting for them as it's not a sport hunt and not a food hunt.

as long as Russia and China hold a veto at the UN security council, they are not going in and the US are not in a position to go in. Most countries in NATO are trying to recover from the recession.....not looking good.

I have no problem with hunting. It was a legit quesiton because shooting a bear makes no sense to me. It's like going hunting for elephant and then leaving it to rot n the sun. The locals would eat the meat but they probably wouldnt see it if youre on safari
