FIFY

And his agent even whined about Hunter's style at the end of the year. Semin wasn't pleased with his role or coach at all.

yet there he was backchecking and blocking shots in the playoffs.

edit: to be fair, i wouldn't be comfortable giving him any contract of length, but i think he could be a big contributor.

Sup.

Corey Perry is the best winger in the league.

- OrangeBlack27

I'd take those 3 over Perry. Hossa is the best all-around winger in the league IMO.

I'd order it:

1. Ovie
2. Hossa
3. Kovalchuck
4. Perry
5. Parise

He's very good, very good. Best in the League? I don't know I would go that far. Top 5ish imo.

They waited until the summer because they simply didn't have the cap room to add anyone of value.

If they manage to hold on to some cap space, in-season deals tend to be a lot more equitable than the attempted fleecings that are done over the summer when there are multitudes of buyers with ample cap space to bid against.

- Tomahawk

that's a general statement...that you build your team during the summer. both COL and DAL made lopsided deals in-season because there was an obvious pressing need and the other teams had leverage to extract what they wanted. would rather make deals w/o the pressure of needing results.

Sounds like Poile is very upset at Suter. Apparently Suter talked as tho he would stay then all of a sudden yesterday he signed with Minny saying he wanted to play closer to home, etc. who knows?

Yea, again, occassionally. Semin played well at times, but was benched repeatedly at other times.

Wonder if D Sedin can play any defense? Vigneault puts the twins in almost exclusively offensive situations.

You're nuts. Ryan, like Nash, has a physical element to his game.

Much more consistent player too.

I like Wellwood on the 4th line. I don't think he has quite the offensive ability to play in the top 9 on a contending team. Right now the options for the 4th line are Sestito, Wellwood, Rinaldo. Depending on what other moves are made.

See the first paragraph of the blog -- There is time and now plenty of cap space w/o Carle or Jagr this offseason to improve team.

But there is no way to spin the handling of Carle and ZP/RS (when it turned out Pittsburgh wasn't a serious consideration for either player) as anything but a pair of miscalculations on what they initially WANTED to do.

Let's just say he's not known for his defensive capabilties. Neither of the Sedin Sisters are.
