Brayden Schenn should be every bit as untouchable as Couturier. Both are going to be special players.
- Jsaquella

There is only one player I trade either one of them for. I agree that Schenn is going to be a really good player. I think he breaks out this upcoming Season.

Flyers have roughly 7.5 mill in cap space left... could they overpay for Doan and sign Voracek with that money? Maybe waive Shelley?

Simmonds-Briere-Schenn
Read-Couturier-Doan
Wellwood-Talbot-Fedotenko

Roll those 4 lines all year...

- Flyers2821

Doan would have to be a top 6 guy methinks for at least 1 year.

Those lines would be rolled on an extremely consistent basis... he would get plenty of ice time with great players.

LOL. Just way too many injuries to realistically expect a different outcome. No way they can play .700 ball the rest of the way.

I would do it. He would add alot to this team, could also take Harts spot next year if he left via UFA
- bigmookalookie

I think we got simmer in case Hartsy leaves (better not!) otherwise yes he would bring alot. Definitely help with that pesky team defense

Interesting part about it is, they can exhaust their offseason cap availability and still have Prongers entire contract to play with during the season.

Prongers contract could be a blessing in disguise in the future (as long as he goes on LTIR each year). Could really keep us honest in the offseason

I'd be cool with adding Doan on a 2 year deal, if he leaves. They certainly can fit him and he'd be a good presence and player.

At the same time, I think they're pretty much done, unless Weber gets shopped or the asking price on Ryan or Nash drops quite a bit.

I definitely dont expect to see them throw any long term deals out there (Semin) but I could definitely see them overpaying a guy like Doan for the next 2 seasons while all our young players are still on their initial contracts.

It's not, but RAJ has to be smart about keeping the core and getting maximum value for the older guys not coming back. The Thome trade brought back much more than I thought possible. two decent young 21 &19 prospects,a pitcher and Catcher. The catcher could be a real good one. Big upside.

Prob is I think Homer gives him 4 years to get him to sign here.
