No I know as well it would be damaging to the entire league, just wasn't feeling too comfortable when I saw Fehr here, (baseball, aaaagggggghhhhh).
- puckhead17

Fehr is like a boogeyman, but he does realize how badly losing the World Series hurt baseball in 1994, so I doubt he'll let the new CBA go nuclear

To be honest, I dont give Couturier up at all. The fact that in his rookie season he made the best player in the World completely disappear in one of the highest scoring playoff series in a long time... still to this day blows me away.

The value of a center who can do that... is truly invaluable and I would not move him at all. To me, Couturier is absolutely untouchable.

The reality is that quality defensive checking Centers are available far more readily then franchise #1 defenseman are.

I gotta think Doan wants to play in an actual Hockey Market before he retires.

he could still sign in one when he's 39

Takes trade rumors personally... what happens when he gets here and Carchidi says he has a sense of entitlement? Waco I mean Sea Isle 2.0?

So far I love what Holmgren has done with the team. He is not going to give up Couts or Schenn and has not overpaid for anyone. I am happy with this team, even if nothing more is done. Might see then go after Doan, if he is avalible, but if not there might be a few more depth signings and I will be good with that.
- bigmookalookie

They are actually in a position where they could overpay for Doan for the next 2 seasons and still be perfectly fine. Depending on what they do with Voracek I guess

Also, lets not forget that Homer has pulled some pretty nice heists the past few seasons come TDL time... Leino, Grossman...

When was the last time you saw a 19 year old completely shut down the best player in the game who was absolutely unstoppable the entire season?

I think the Flyers were very fortunate that Couturier had mono the previous season. He was a complete steal at 8. If Couturier or Schenn goes I'd send Schenn (not having considered the Schenn brothers in my equation)

Is Voracek considered a more vauable piece than Luke Schenn?

I'd prefer to resign and keep Voracek, keep couturier and trade the Schenn brothers and picks for Weber.
I could do that. Slam dumk.

Coots and Voracek is what we got for Carter. Would you have traded Carter and picks for Weber.

I know that was then and this is now, but 10 years with G and Schenn and Weber is how you build a franchise.

I believe the other pieces would fall into place. Players would want to come to Philly. Just MO.

If there was justice in the world, our governments (Usa/Canada) would tell these owners and players if they don't get a CBA worked out before the new season, tickets are free and they don't get paid. Half arse it and get sent to the dessert to help conquer and control the oil fields.... Let me dream okay!

One would hope. If he is made avalible Snider will give him 4 years and pay him well, you can bet on that

Doesn't matter. I'd trade him in a package for Weber. I can get a good defensive checking Center far more easily then I can a franchise #1 defenseman.

much to the chagrin of the board, I would be okay with it. Doan is too much of a character heart guy that unless another lightning bolt strikes in the same bodily orifice I believe he'll play out that contract.

I agree, I also think Voracek bypassed arbitration b/c he is close to getting a long term deal with the team. All in all Homer did excellent this year and heck if nothing is done he can make a splash next year.

I'm an eternal optomist when it comes to the Phils, but Paps getting his first loss via a blown save is a sign. Have to keep Cole and get hat you can for Vic, Pierre, Blanton...You can't lose 4 BP arms, your 2 and 4 hitter, 2 starters... and expect a good outcome.

Brayden Schenn should be every bit as untouchable as Couturier. Both are going to be special players.

Flyers have roughly 7.5 mill in cap space left... could they overpay for Doan and sign Voracek with that money? Maybe waive Shelley?

Hartnell-Giroux-Voracek
Simmonds-Briere-Schenn
Read-Couturier-Doan
Wellwood-Talbot-Fedotenko

Roll those 4 lines all year...
